Sam had the biggest cup of coffee that the Perk would sell as he came to open the library. As much fun as his road trip with Dean had been, it had left him more wiped than he'd expected.

"Yeah, I think everyone in class is aware of that now." Dean clapped a hand on Sammy's shoulder. "But you did good, Sammy. You talked fast but you were coherent and they probably know way more about the witch trials now than they ever wanted to know."

Sam smiled softly. "You're not just saying that to try to make me feel better?"

"And give up the opportunity to tease you mericilessly if I had it?"

"That's true, I can't see you missing that kind of opportunity," Sam said.

Dean spread his hands. "Well then. Guess the opportunity couldn't have been there."

That made Sam smile more. "Thanks Dean. I'm glad you're in that class. As nervous as I was, I knew that if anyone tried to really make fun of me, you'd stop them. Probably."

"Damn straight," Dean agreed. "No one gets to make fun of you 'cept me."

"Exactly," Sam said with a laugh. "I've learned that well over the years."

"I suppose I'll have to let Gracie make fun of you if she wants," Dean said thoughtfully. "Once she learns how to talk."

"What makes you so sure she'll want to make fun of me?" Sam said. "Isn't it my job to make fun of her?"

"And you never make fun of me at all," Dean pointed out.

"You deserve it when I do it though."

"So will you when Gracie does it. It's the way of siblings."

"What if she likes me better than you? She might help me make fun of you." Not that Sam actually expected that to happen, but teasing Dean was too fun to ignore.

"Dude, that'll never happen," Dean said with complete assurance. "All women like me."

"Grace won't be your average woman though."

"I'm not your average guy," Dean countered. "Also, I've 15 years -- well more or less -- of big brother experience that you don't. I know how to be awesome at it."

"Awesomer than me, you mean," Sam replied.

"You're pretty awesome as a little brother," Dean said.

"Aww, thanks Dean," Sam said, laughing. "I think maybe I've done well as a big brother so far."

"Yeah, you have," Dean admitted. "Even if you have to be practically held at gunpoint to change a diaper."

"I didn't know what to expect," Sam said defensively. "It wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be."

"Dude, you've dug up corpses. A little dirty diaper shouldn't even have made you blink."

"Corpses don't generally come out of something tiny and adorable," Sam replied.

Dean made a face. "Okay, now there's a mental image that's going to be hard to get rid of."
