It was Danger Shop time again.

Except Kerrigan wasn't wearing any armor.

That would've been the first tip-off right there.

"Thanks to certain students in this class," she said, crossing her arms, "We have a slight change in the curriculum today. We are going to be concerned with diplomacy and its advantages in the field."

She didn't sound like she felt it had any advantages in the field of all places.

"Since I still believe we all learn by doing, that means we're using the sim to place you in a situation where you will have to negotiate yourself out or die. As this class is his particular gift to us, Adama if he is here can go first. And show you all how it's done."

If you thought she was smirking, you thought wrong.

Really.

"It's not my first battle," Luke said, trotting towards the tanks. "Are we past the talking stage already?"

"They're trying to blow up our planet. I think that constitutes 'past talking'," the Terran told him gruffly.

Luke chewed on his lower lip. "So is there something else of value on this planet for the 'Toss to try to use this excuse to take it over? Or are they suffering from severe overkill?"

"They're 'Toss," the mostly unimpressed man told him, "They know no kill like overkill."

"Are you doing this to buy time for people to get out of the way?" he asked, "or are you really hoping to stop the 'Toss here?"

"But that would be smart," Luke said with ghost of a smile. "I don't do smart. This is just...aggressive negotiations." His smile broadened. "It's what my father calls it, anyway."

"They're Protoss!" the man sounded offended, "They don't do negotiatin', aggressive or otherwise. Actually, this is about the first time they've actually even told us they were doin' it."

That last part would've been Kerrigan's influence. Not that Luke would know.
