Library [10/15]

Sam was aware that there were no classes this week, but that wasn't about to stop him from opening the library. If nothing else, it gave him a day to work without having to worry about leaving for anything.

"Not really," he said idly. "Which isn't all that surprising, and is kind of good. Are you, by any chance, trying to kill me?"

"Kill you?" She blinked wide, innocent-looking blue eyes at him. "Huh?"

"Your note!" Sam exclaimed. "You come in here all sweet and innocent and 'Ooh, here are some books to return, have some cookies too' and then you add that note!"

Dawn grinned. "Oh, good. You got the cookies."

"And I got the note!" Sam replied, focusing on what he considered to be the much more important thing.

"Huh." She swung her leg and closed the book she'd been reading, looking up at him. "Any thoughts?"

"Is it still true? What was in the note, I mean."

She grinned at him. "Yup."

"You're totally trying to kill me."

"Kill, no. Torture...maybe. I got bored."

"Can you get bored more? Please?"

"I don't want to distract you from working on a gorgeous day with no classes, because that would be wrong." Or something. "You doing anything later?"

It was entirely possible that Dean had rubbed off on Sam more than he wanted, due to the fact that one of the potential answers rolling around in Sam's head was simply saying, "You, I hope." Luckily, he had more sense than that, and just shook his head. "Nope. Nothing whatsoever. My schedule is totally clear."

"Maybe we could come up with something to do?" she said, getting to her feet and smiling up at him, trying to ignore the sensations of her skirt falling into place around her ankles. "Just you and me?"

"I--uh, I like that idea. A lot," Sam said. Damn her for short circuiting his brain so much.

"Me too." She'd be short-circuiting her own brain in a minute--she had no idea that seducing Sam would seduce her, too. "How much longer?"

"Um. Not long. I can be much faster than normal." Funny how much a good incentive helped with that.

"Hopefully just until we get out of here," she teased, then slapped her hand over her mouth. What came out next was a very muffled version of "Never mind!"

"I'm going to take that as a hint," Sam said.

Dawn just nodded at him, wide-eyed. This was what happened when you gave smart people Ideas.

"Note for the future: you might want to work on your skills of subtlety," he teased. "Just a little suggestion from me to you."

Fine, if he wanted to play that way...

"Less subtle would be telling you that you should just lock the door."

Sam's eyes widened a little, and he took one last quick glance around.

"Oh, look at that, the library's all clean and tidy. I'm done for the day."

"Ready when you are," she grinned, "and you owe Faith a thank you."

"I do?" Sam said, before realizing that she was probably the one who fed all these ideas to Dawn in the first place. "I mean, yes. Yes, I totally do."
