Today you're going to learn the art of obfuscation. There is nothing in this world - NOTHING - that can be said that can't be confused and twisted to the point where no one understands what the heck you're on about.

"I may have to obtain clearance from my CO beforehand," answered Hoshi.

"When would I get the headsup on the logistics? I'll keep my ears on and the hammer down to make it to the location for the pickup and dropoff by the appointed time," he said. "Radio on and awaiting signal."

"I recently obtained a rather antique communications device which is capable of retaining transmitted verbal communiques," said Hoshi

"Great! So once you hear down the lines from the Comms HQ and have the 10-4 from dispatch, that's a go?" he asked.

"Was my reply not affirmative enough?" asked Hoshi.

"Jus'wanted to verify, clarify, and certify," he said with a grin, tipping an invisible hat. "Be waitin' on with my ears on."

...did she just agree to go on a date with him? To the movies?

Hoshi still wasn't sure what just happened or what she had agreed to.

Jack was too busy smiling to notice the part where he was waiting for her to call him regarding their 'date' or 'movie outing' or 'sharing of close proximital space as a ritualized custom that was a primary step in the propagation of species' or whatever it was called.
