When the sex ed class arrived in the classroom today, they would find that, on each desk, there was a pencil and a sheet of paper. Lulu was in her accustomed pose, leaning against the front of her desk.

"Good morning, class," she began. "As I said last week, today we are having our first test. It's really quite simple; you are to list one thing you have learned in this class, followed by a brief description of it, and two ways in which you can apply this to your own life.

"You have one hour; you may leave if you finish early. You may begin."

Rikku gave her a warm smile. That was good, then. Rikku was sorry she couldn't ask specifics or anything. Kinda a one-sided conversation, huh?

... Did River know anything about ghosts?

Thinking for a moment, River then shook her head, her shoulders slumping a little. She wrote a few words on a piece of paper and threw it to Rikku. The note read:

Are ghosts too much memory? Need to stay in the present and future?

Rikku read the note, chewing on her lip. She was about to write back when she remembered that she didn't need to. Right.

A friend is ... stuck. Maybe not stuck. But still here. Needs my help and I don't know what to do or where to start.

There was something disturbing about a Rikku who wasn't merry. River wrote:

Rikku read the note, and broke out in another smile. People in Fandom were awesome. They just sort of were.

I'll let you know. If I find out anything. Thank you.

There were feelings that went along with that, that she didn't know how to articulate exactly, but that she always felt a little less scared here because when you had a problem, everyone wanted to help, and you didn't have to fix things by yourself. So it would all be okay, somehow.

River smiled back, warmly, knowing what she meant. Not being alone made a difference.
