Lies are the little things like whether you're a natural blonde or not, how many people you've slept with, or whether she looks fat in that dress. We all tell lies, don't even try to tell me you've never told a lie. Actually, do and I'll give you detention. Oh yeah!" He really would.

"Today I want you to tell lies. Simple lies. We're not trying to win an Oscar, just get through life with less stress. What's a normal, simple lie? Your name? Toothpaste choice? Career aspirations? Whether or not you cheated last weekend? Whether you think it should count as cheating. Something lame like that. GO!" Barney loved listening to the radio. Really.

Zack and Karal might be surprised if they noticed Barney didn't seem to be avoiding their gaze. It was as if the entire weekend hadn't happened for him. Of course it had, he was just very good at lying to himself. Such things happen when you're completely awesome and Bob Barker is your dad.

At the end of the period, Barney called for attention again. "Tonight is Homecoming. I'm sure all you attached kids will be fighting over corsages, spiked punch, and whose date is hotter. Remember men, just because you arrived with her, doesn't mean you have to leave with her. Ladies, remember this is not your mother's Homecoming - SLUT UP! Enjoy yourselves, and have a LEGENDARY HOMECOMING. Heh, coming."

Annette winked at Beauty. "Did you know Clever was my middle name? Annette Clever Hargrove."

Beauty laughed. "I'm really bad at this, aren't I? Um. Yes, I knew Clever was your middle name because I...secretly read your journal."

Annette snickered. "Which one? I have two journals. Actually I have three but one is not my own."

"I read them all," Beauty answered quickly. "And I wrote copies too. In Greek."

"So then I have no worries about the rest of the student body being able to read them," Annette said cheekily. "So, what did you think of my dream last night?"

"I've put up posters offering translations. For a fee," Beauty countered. "And, um...I thought your dream was extremely disturbing. Very very odd. Have you considered talking to someone about your problems with badgers?"

"That was two days ago! You didn't read about the moaning and stuff? Dick wrote that all down for me."

"I, um...I'm waiting for my minions to get that part of your journal right now." Beauty thought minions would be a nice element to her lie.

Annette snickered. Minions. How funny. "Did you meet Angel, when you went into my room to steal my journals?"

Drat. Who was Angel?

"Yes. Angel and I are very good friends now. I needed some inside help, you see. He's the one stealing your journal for me right now."

"Oh, the poor little thing. I wonder how she is managing that with just her paws."

Drat again! Beauty scrambled to cover her slip up.

"Oh, well, it'll be easy now. I turned her into a boy with my amazing magical powers."

"Oh my goodness!" Annette bounced in her seat. "Do something. Show me something right now. I just love magic!"

"I can't. It's all very secret," Beauty replied solemnly. "If I were to do my magic in front of you, you'd have to be initiated into the brotherhood. And that's very dangerous."

Okay, this was kind of fun!

"Brotherhood? Like a secret society? Oh, can I join, please? I'll do whatever it takes!"

"Well..." Beauty mused. "Maybe you could. But you have to possess some very special talent. Do you have one?"

"Probably," she stated simply.

Beauty wrinkled her nose at Annette. "Well, the brotherhood is really run by Angel. I'll bet you didn't know that, did you? So she -- he has the final decision. Because I turned him into a boy, remember."

"Right. Right. So, does this mean that he is not going to sleep with me anymore?"

Beauty couldn't help it. She bit her lip to keep from giggling, and replied very thoughtfully, "Well...I guess that depends on what your boyfriend says."

"Of course. Can't kick Dick out of my bed now can I?" She snickered.

"I might be convinced to change Angel back, so you don't have to worry about that," Beauty said, pretending to ponder the possibility.

"Whew, that's a relief. Since Dick and I are getting married and all, he might not like the idea of getting kicked out... you know?"

"Oh, I know," Beauty replied, nodding. "He came and asked my advice before he proposed to you."

Annette busted out laughing. "Ohhh, you are good!"
