The screens in Spider’s classroom this morning are showing various scenes from around the school and school grounds. Various students are in the study hall, walking between the buildings, arguing, making out… just another average morning.

Spider’s desk is covered in maps and there are semi-transparent displays clustered around him as he rummages. Before the desk, on an easel, is the following notice.

Students:

Today we’re going to discuss the student election process because, to date, I haven’t seen any process at all. Do the candidates have stated public platforms yet? Have there been debates scheduled? Do we have a date for the elections themselves? What, exactly, are the duties and powers for the various positions?

Discuss and/or ferret out the answers.

((OOC: There will be a later post regarding tomorrow’s field trip. I have to go back and check who signed up to go and whether they all really have turned in their permission slips. I also have to go back and respond to students in yesterday’s class because last night got a little out of hand so I didn’t get back to that – and my deepest apologies.))

"Suits are really nice," Chihaya said, loud enough for Jayne to hear. He was obviously uncomfortable but Chihaya really did think he looked nice.

Duce eyes Chihaya up, "You'd look cute in a suit, too."

"Who me?" Chihaya laughed. "I look like a little boy going to church."

Duce retorts, "And that's not cute, how?"

His face turned many interesting and varied shades of red. Ducking his head, Chihaya tried to bury himself in his homework. "I saw your notice about the henna art. That sounds really neat. Um. Can guys get them too? Or is it just a girl thing?"

((ooc: I'm assuming this is earlier in the day for them?))

Duce smiles at the blush, and simply answers the questions, "Guys get them all the time. Traditional Indian henna was only for women, but nowadays, men get henna 'tribal' tattoos and stuff. It's become the latest fad in body art, because it can be renewed with a new design each time. You should come down this afternoon and try it out. You'd like it."

Chihaya wiggled in his chair. "I don't know if I'll have time today. But since I'm working, I have money! I can come by another time and have you do one?"

Duce tried to keep her face serious as Chi wriggled like a happy puppy, "Sure you can. We'll be there most days ~~when the player isn't being a total slack~~ and during the weekend mornings, too. So far, we're the only person doing them. Red can't.. y'know, that whole no-thumb thing."

Blinking, Chihaya looked at her in disbelief, then down to his hands. "He doesn't have any thumbs? How does he write and do tattoos and piercings?!"

Duce shakes her head solemnly, "There are things we just don't ask him. Figure we'll find out soon enough. As far as we know, he doesn't write, though. He types." She looks at Chi curiously, "You did know he's a big.." She gestures with her hands in a manner that indicates something about so tall, and gives a frustrated little flourish as she searches for the proper word, "canine .. being, right?"

"Noooooo," he whispered, like it was some big secret. Looking around, he scooted closer to her. "He is? And he does tattoos? And has a store he owns and runs?"

Duce nods, "Big.. red.. canine being person thing. He also has cubs, who are adorable. Does piercing and tattoos, makes jewelry, dials the phone and works the cash register.. you'd be surprised at how well he gets along without thumbs."
