Karal probably should have been in bed, but he wasn't. Instead he was opening the library.

Slowly, and he looked kind of pale, but he was there.

Thursday was in, but busy. She was fine with being interrupted, but you would have to get her attention first.

Karal's sitting behind the desk, staring into space.

Jaina was up early, and remembering where Karal was on Fridays (thank you, radio), she made a quick stop in town before coming down to the library, carrying a small bag from JGOB. "Hey there," she said with a little smile.

Karal blinked as he came back to here from wherever he'd been. "Good morning, Jaina."

"Morning," she said, heading to the counter. "I stopped for breakfast. There's a muffin, if you want it. Sleep okay?"

"I did. The doctor gave me something to help me sleep, and, glory, it was effective," he replied with a small smile. "I think I would like some muffin, thank you. Would you share it with me?"

"I've got my own," she said, taking them out of the bag and handing him one. "Doctor?"

"It looks very good," he said as he accepted it, breaking off a tiny piece to nibble. "I promised I would see a Healer when I returned to Fandom, but there are none here."

"I'd offer to help, but I'm not very good at healing myself," Jaina said honestly. "Are you okay?"

"I will be fine," he assured her. "I have medicines that will fix the problem in a few weeks. I did not know you could heal as part of your Gift."

Karal's not here, but he'll be back after class if you want to wait.

He's back, and he's back behind the desk, looking through an atlas of places he's never heard of.

Aravis had only been to the library a few times before, but today she had a non-literary purpose for stopping by. Which was why she was carefully carrying a small pot of tea and a cup, which she brought over to the circulation desk. "Morning."

Karal closed the book and looked up, smiling a little. "Good morning, Aravis. How are you today?"

"Well enough," she replied. "Brought you some tea."

He really wanted the tea, actually thought he could smell it, but he folded his hands and shook his head. "Thank you, but I am not allowed to have tea right now," he replied, looking hopeful. "Would you like to stay for awhile? There is a spare chair here behind the desk, and if you drank the tea, it wouldn't go to waste."

Aravis looked puzzled, but nodded and took the tea around the desk. "Aren't allowed? It's just tea."

"Tea has caffeine, and I'm not allowed to have caffeine," he explained. "I made myself ill, and avoiding caffeine will help me heal faster."

Aravis tilted her head. "How'd you manage that?"

"The doctor said it was stress, that I have a sore inside my stomach," he said as lightly as he could. "But it will be better in a few weeks."

The library's closed to all but aides, the librarian, and any invited guests.

Karal's slowly working his way through a bowl of soup.

There were books that needed to be reshelved, so that's what Karal's doing.

Karal wasn't feeling very well. He folded his arms on the desk and rested his chin on them, waiting for the day to be over.
