Study Hall [All Day]

The first day of Study Hall was in session and Fraser was behind the desk, looking both confused and calm. He still wasn't quite sure what was expected him (and, for some reason, he thought he should have purchased doughnuts) but he trusted Aly not to get him into too much of an odd situation.

Well, unless she was around to watch him flail about. Maybe.

Study Hall was open.

"Of course you did," he said and smiled. "I think we all made mistakes in our youth. I once kicked a moose."

"A moose?" Turtle's jaw dropped and her eyes lit up as if she was now looking at one of the coolest people she'd ever met. Well, he'd have to be the third coolest, since no one could be cooler than Mister Deadpool or her father. "Really?"

"Indeed," he said, nodding. "He'd wandered onto our property, probably having gotten a little lost and my father charged me with getting him back on track. The moose was quite a bit bigger than I was so pushing him had no effect. Talking to him failed as well. I kicked his left hind leg in an attempt to get him moving."

He shook his head. "All that got me was a stern lecture from my father and sent inside to my room. He never did tell me how he got the moose to move."

Turtle's expression was still one of rapt attention and fascination. "Did the moose do anything when you kicked it? Did it kick you back?"

That's what she would have done.

"He backed into me," Fraser recalled. "And since I was quite a bit smaller, succeeded in knocking me into the snow on my backside. It was an experience I haven't wanted to repeat."

"...That doesn't sound too bad," Turtle mused with a tilt of her head. "Could have been a lot worse, anyway."

"Quite worse," he agreed. "If he'd kicked me, I would've probably had to take a trip to the local medical facilities. He was a rather large moose and probably didn't deserve to be kicked just because he wouldn't move."

He paused for a moment. "But, he just would not move. I had to do something."

Turtle nodded, completely understanding. "Did he have a reason to be so unmovable, or was he just a stubborn, stubborn moose?"

"I believe he was just stubborn," Fraser decided. "And became even more stubborn when he realized I was attempting to move him. He really didn't want to go. I find myself wondering, even though this was quite far in the past, if my father kicked the moose to get him to eventually leave the property."

Turtle chuckled a little. "But his moose kicking skills were far more superior?"

"Exactly," Fraser said, nodding emphatically. "Or perhaps he just knew where to kick the moose. Maybe the leg wasn't the correct place to kick him? Perhaps he needed to be kicked in the backside or the flank or some other place that was unknown to me. Nevertheless...I would still probably attempt to kick that moose if he showed up on the school's property today."

"Ooh! If I see any immovable mooses, then, I'll make sure you're the first person I go to, sir!"

Laughing, Fraser said, "And I would, of course, offer you the chance to assist me in moving any immovable moose."

Such an odd sentence.

"Oh!" Turtle clapped her hands together happily. "I was hoping you would say that! But I didn't want to tread on any of your moose kicking glory. However, I can assure you, sir, that, if the time comes, I will not let you down as a moose kicking sidekick." She nodded firmly in her confidence for this matter.

"Then, you are officially dubbed Assistant Moose Kicker," Fraser said and waved his hand with flourish. "May our moose kicking days be plentiful."

"Yay!" Turtle threw up her arms happily and then, biting her lip and pulling them back in, gave Fraser an innocent look because she still wasn't sure if you had to be quiet in Study Hall like you had to be quiet in a library. She still bounced, though, happily. A day was always good when a new business partnership was made.
