Study Hall [All Day]

The first day of Study Hall was in session and Fraser was behind the desk, looking both confused and calm. He still wasn't quite sure what was expected him (and, for some reason, he thought he should have purchased doughnuts) but he trusted Aly not to get him into too much of an odd situation.

Well, unless she was around to watch him flail about. Maybe.

Study Hall was open.

[Open! This is for all teachers and all students. If you'd like to take a look at study halls of past, check them out here.]

Jamie was there with a VERY LARGE cup of coffee.

He was bouncing his knee A LOT.

Apparently he had several cups before he got to Study Hall this morning.

"Nope!" Jamie said very quickly and very loudly. "Just very caffinated this morning. You know how you drink to much coffee and you just kind of sit there and vibrate? That's what I'm kind of doing right now, and may I say that's a lovely hat you're wearing? Where can I get a hat like that? Do I have to be a mountie? Can I just pick one up anywhere? Then again maybe a hat isn't for me because then my hair won't get all smooshed. Unless you know a trick to keep yourself from having perfect hair without getting smooshed. Do you know such a trick?"

And yes. He said that in one breath.

River stopped by the study hall after her class, not because she particularly felt the need to study but because it was a better place to work at assembling one of her vole skeletons than her room. Berthold had eaten too much ice cream and seemed to have stomach pains.

She too thought that Fraser should have bought donuts, as she would then have tried to steal one. Instead she had to make to with apples.

"So far it has been satisfactory," River replied with a smile, gluing a vole skull to a vole spine. "And yours?"

After her class, Turtle Wexler breezed into the study hall....well, okay, so she couldn't really breeze with everything she was carrying, but everything she was carrying was soon spread out on a table around her. And that, my friends, was a ridiculous amount of paperwork. And, of course, Turtle couldn't be happier. Technically speaking, none of it was school work, but that didn't really matter, did it? It was still...studying. Kind of.

Either way, a new resource was being opened to her, and she'd feel terrible if she wasn't exploiting it.

Turtle shook her head a little, before giving a firm and important nod. "No, this is all for one day of life."

Jeff was wearing a very white shirt that read 'VOTE T.R. WEXLER PRESIDENT SOPHOMORE CLASS REPRESENTATIVE' written in dried-out black marker.

He was also settling down in the study hall staring nervously at his Feminism notes. He may have been holding them upside down.

Jeff grinned a bright grinny grin up at Fraser. "It's for my girlfriend!" he said, ceerfully, "She's running for sophomore class representative!" In case Fraser couldn't tell. "She's amazing, everybody should vote for her."

Turtle didn't even have to train him to say that.

After having a good, steady period of churning out a lot of uselessly bureaucratic work that made her feel like she'd been so very, very productive, Turtle noticed Jeff coming in. With a shirt. Her jaw may have dropped slightly in impressed amusement and, giving one look at her status reports, she decided they could take a break.

"Jeff!" she said happily as she plopped into a seat next to him and then, wincing, said it again in much quieter tone, not sure if, like the library, you had to be mostly quiet in study hall. "Jeff!" she whispered. "You're representing!"

Jeff gave Turtle both of his thumbs up, beaming like a lit Christmas tree. "I felt it was necessary to visually aid the representing process," he explained, "'Cos they say it sticks more if you've got visuals. That's why there's so many television advertisements with naked women in them."

Turtle opened her mouth on the edge of a comment about that last bit, but then she closed it with the realization that she should just be glad there were no naked women (or attempts at them) on the t-shirt. Of course, there was also a little bit of worry about things that might be said that could lead to incrimination when people asked Jeff about the shirt, but his intentions are very good and sweet so she could maybe forgive a little bit of backlash from his...exuberance.

"That's great!" she whispered back with a smile. "Thank you."
