Study Hall [All Day]

The first day of Study Hall was in session and Fraser was behind the desk, looking both confused and calm. He still wasn't quite sure what was expected him (and, for some reason, he thought he should have purchased doughnuts) but he trusted Aly not to get him into too much of an odd situation.

Well, unless she was around to watch him flail about. Maybe.

Study Hall was open.

Fraser's awake and alert, paging through a book at the desk.

Fraser's moved onto the dictionary.

Yes, really.

And now he's walking a perimeter around the room. You can never be too careful.

He's back at the desk now, going through some old paperwork.

With the end of the day approaching, Fraser's tidying things up.

And we're done! I should be around all day if slow due to workiness.

River stopped by the study hall after her class, not because she particularly felt the need to study but because it was a better place to work at assembling one of her vole skeletons than her room. Berthold had eaten too much ice cream and seemed to have stomach pains.

She too thought that Fraser should have bought donuts, as she would then have tried to steal one. Instead she had to make to with apples.

Jamie was there with a VERY LARGE cup of coffee.

He was bouncing his knee A LOT.

Apparently he had several cups before he got to Study Hall this morning.

"Mr. Madrox," Fraser said, not being able to ignore the bouncing knee. "Are you quite all right?"

"Good morning," Fraser greeted, nodding. "I hope your day is quite well."

"Nope!" Jamie said very quickly and very loudly. "Just very caffinated this morning. You know how you drink to much coffee and you just kind of sit there and vibrate? That's what I'm kind of doing right now, and may I say that's a lovely hat you're wearing? Where can I get a hat like that? Do I have to be a mountie? Can I just pick one up anywhere? Then again maybe a hat isn't for me because then my hair won't get all smooshed. Unless you know a trick to keep yourself from having perfect hair without getting smooshed. Do you know such a trick?"

And yes. He said that in one breath.

Fraser blinked.

Twice.

"Yes, I believe caffeinated is the right word for what you are this morning," he finally said. "Thank you for the kind compliment about my hat. This hat is RCMP issued so I don't know if you can find an exact copy. It is a Stetson so perhaps you can find one like that. Hat hair is a side effect I, unfortunately, must live with."

"So far it has been satisfactory," River replied with a smile, gluing a vole skull to a vole spine. "And yours?"

"For me as well," he returned. "I'm still getting used to running a study hall. This is a first for me."

"You're doing fine so far," River complimented him. "Although donuts would have been an improvement. I like your hat."

"Yes, I think the next time I run study hall, there will be some sort of breakfast food," he agreed. "And thank you kindly. A lot of people do seem to like it."

"Can I try it on?" River asked, letting go of the two bones. The glue seemed to work.

"Of course," he said and slipped his hat off his head. He stood up and walked the hat over to River. "There you are."

Jamie nodded in acknowledgment of those questions so fast his head was practically a blur.

"Has anyone ever tried to make a hat that doesn't affect your hair? Because face it, how awesome would it be to have a hat that didn't cause hat hair? But then there would probably be a adverse affect in hair care products because no one would have to redo their hair after wearing a hat. So the question is should we develop a hat that would allow a user to have perfect hair or not so we can save the hair care industry from falling into disarray?"

Carefully River placed the hat on her head, a wide smile on her face. "Good?" she asked Fraser, her head tilted.

"Just how many cups of coffee have you had, Mr. Madrox?" Fraser asked.

"Very good," he said with a nod. "Much better looking than on my head."

River shook her head with the hat on it, then lifted it off her head and gently handed it back to him. "Suits you perfectly," she said. "Want an apple?"

Jeff was wearing a very white shirt that read 'VOTE T.R. WEXLER ~~PRESIDENT~~ SOPHOMORE CLASS REPRESENTATIVE' written in dried-out black marker.

He was also settling down in the study hall staring nervously at his Feminism notes. He may have been holding them upside down.

He took the hat back with a grin and said, "Yes, that would be quite nice, thank you."
