Library - Sunday

Lee's back in the library today, books scattered across the help desk that either needed to be shelved or checked back in. Of course, that was being hindered by the fact that Lee kept paging through them to see if they were interesting or not.

So far, he'd decided most of them were interesting in some way. At this rate, his work was never going to get down.

The library is open.

After leaving the church, Karal made a brief stop in his room for some papers and his notebooks, then headed for the library.

Which, he realised as he walked in, he was surprised to find open. "Hello," he said, smiling a bit shyly at the person he didn't know.

"It goes well," he replied, looking curiously at what Lee was doing, but he didn't want to seem rude, so he didn't ask. "I hoped to use one of the tables, if it won't disturb you?"

"Thank you." He had a sudden, ridiculous surge of not quite jealousy, but he pushed it away, feeling guilty. "I am Karal," he added, taking a few steps in the direction of the tables. "I work here on Fridays."

"And you, Lee." He took a few more steps towards the tables. "I may need to use the photocopier later, if that would be all right?"

"Again, thank you. If I need help I will ask." With a small smile, he nodded and went to claim a table, spreading out his papers and settling in to work.

River had found a pile of library books under her bed, and showed up after lunch to return them. The tapping sound made her frown as she entered the room, until she found the source. She quietly approached the desk and put the books she hand brought down. They were mostly ones about 20th century art. She wouldn't need them now.

"Hello, Lee," she said quietly.

She nodded and pushed the books towards him. "Don't need these anymore." Her eyes moved from her books to the one he was reading. She couldn't help being curious. Adah had told her she had promised to lend Lee some books, and for some reason that had made her jealous. Books were important to Adah.

River tilted her head. "Am good. You? What is a hobbit?" The image from his mind wasn't clear enough.

Peter wandered into the library to allow Jamie time to do evil, evil things to his stuff to read stuff and be nerdy while not bothering his roommate. He was kind of surprised when he saw a guy he had talked to a couple times two years ago behind the desk.

"Lee?" Peter asked. "Or are you a double?"

"Don't worry, you get used to it. A bunch of people here know an older me from another dimension who never even went to school here," Peter said. "I'm Peter Parker, first among Peters here."

"By the time ninja monkeys attack you'll be fine," Peter said. And suddenly he really wanted to fight ninja monkeys. On one hand, ninjas often beat him up. On the other hand, monkeys. "You'll be surprised how quickly the most insane things you can imagine become commonplace." The guy who can walk on walls was saying this. His adjustment time was not typical in most students.
