Library - Sunday

Lee's back in the library today, books scattered across the help desk that either needed to be shelved or checked back in. Of course, that was being hindered by the fact that Lee kept paging through them to see if they were interesting or not.

So far, he'd decided most of them were interesting in some way. At this rate, his work was never going to get down.

The library is open.

Peter wandered into the library ~~to allow Jamie time to do evil, evil things to his stuff~~ to read stuff and be nerdy while not bothering his roommate. He was kind of surprised when he saw a guy he had talked to a couple times two years ago behind the desk.

"Lee?" Peter asked. "Or are you a double?"

"No, I'm Lee," he said, looking up. "You must've met the other me."

Yep, still weird to say.

"Don't worry, you get used to it. A bunch of people here know an older me from another dimension who never even went to school here," Peter said. "I'm Peter Parker, first among Peters here."

"Lee Adama," he said with a nod. "Guess you already know me and I'm still getting used to all these dimensions, other people, different timelines stuff."

"By the time ninja monkeys attack you'll be fine," Peter said. And suddenly he really wanted to fight ninja monkeys. On one hand, ninjas often beat him up. On the other hand, monkeys. "You'll be surprised how quickly the most insane things you can imagine become commonplace." The guy who can walk on walls was saying this. His adjustment time was not typical in most students.

"Ninja...monkeys?" First of all, he didn't know what a ninja was and he barely knew what a monkey was. "How long have you been here?"

"Ninja monkeys. We haven't had them yet, but I think we're due," Peter said. "And I've been here... a year and a half now? Wow. Time flies."

Lee wasn't really sure he wanted to deal with ninja monkeys considering he had no idea what they were.

"Year and half's a long time," Lee remarked. "Have you been home?"

"A few times, yeah," Peter said. "It's actually not that much different than things here, though, so I was able to keep in a Fandom state of mind. I'm one of the lucky people in terms of that."

"Yeah, this is nothing like where I'm from," Lee told him. "For one, no one was coming at me with glitter or asking me to take off my shirt."

"Okay, those are things that aren't like home," Peter said. "That's what makes Fandom extra special."

"You've been glittered before?" Lee asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I haven't been, but I have good reflexes and a lot of practice dodging stuff," Peter said. "I've seen too many people go down to the glitter."

"What does the glitter actually do?" Lee asked.

"It causes the girl who threw the glitter to insist that you're supposed to kiss a boy," Peter said. "Don't believe them. You're under no obligation."

"Thought so," Lee said, shaking his head. "One tried to get me with glitter at the picnic. I thought I was gonna have to run away."

"Running away is always a good backup plan. The girls here are very insistent about the glitter thing," Peter said.

Lee shook his head and asked, "Any reason for it?"

"They like to see boys kissing," Peter said. "A lot."

"Is it because no one's kissing them?"

"No, even the attached ones get like that. I think it's further proof that girls are insane," Peter said.

"Yeah, I think that's the reasoning I might have to adopt," Lee said. "Do they like people being shirtless for the same reason?"

"No, that's just because they're teenagers and people here tend to have good bodies," Peter said.

He laughed, surprised and said, "That's...honest."

"No, seriously, it's the weirdest thing. Most of the people here are ridiculously attractive," Peter said. "I heard that one time they were doing a poll for the yearbook for 'Most Attractive' and the results said 'See the rest of this book.'"
