Library - Sunday

Lee's back in the library today, books scattered across the help desk that either needed to be shelved or checked back in. Of course, that was being hindered by the fact that Lee kept paging through them to see if they were interesting or not.

So far, he'd decided most of them were interesting in some way. At this rate, his work was never going to get down.

The library is open.

She nodded and pushed the books towards him. "Don't need these anymore." Her eyes moved from her books to the one he was reading. She couldn't help being curious. Adah had told her she had promised to lend Lee some books, and for some reason that had made her jealous. Books were important to Adah.

River tilted her head. "Am good. You? What is a hobbit?" The image from his mind wasn't clear enough.

"And they have books written about them." She picked it up. "Read much?"

River put the book down again. "Adah told me she had promised to lend you books," River said, trying to keep her voice neutral, not like she was in anyway competing about borrowing Adah's books with him. That was just stupid after all.

That was a good thing, River told herself, making herself smile, but again there was that stab of jealousy. "Oh." She paused. "You survived the dancing." Her smiled widened a little.

That earned him a warm smile. River placed her fingers over her lips. "Won't tell anyone." She paused. "Took my spaceship flying yesterday," she added, eyes glittering. She had a feeling Lee would understand the excitement.

She nodded. "Rose went with me. Earth was blue and green as usual, glowing with life." Looking thoughtful, she added: "Made me feel like inbetween planets."

With a chuckle, River nodded. "Look for it next time. And Earth is almost crowded." It made her want to laugh, sharing the excitement.

"Desert? Many of the border moons are little more than desert. Saving money on bad terraforming. But Caprica is a central planet?" All these other worlds made her curious.

She nodded. "Not a trace of orange on Earth," she said, then took a step back. "Should get back to my room or Berthold will be upset." It was a good thing her wardrobe was locked.

She shook her head, laughing. "No more books." She tapped her head. "They cling. Have to be careful."

"I hope," River repeated. She walked towards the door, then turned on the doorstep. "I work at the hotel on Fridays. Choose the menu too. If you like experimental food." The she disappeared out of the door.
