Barney thought this was a total waste of his time. He could be off with Jo Jo right now getting some sweet early morning action. He posted the Detention List and leaned against the door to wait.

"Okay, losers, listen up!" Barney gathered the students just outside the Danger Shop.

"Today you ladies and gentleman will complete several challenges that Robin Sparkles, I mean, Robin Scherbatsky faced when becoming a temporary bro." Well, all but the final challenge.

"Start off by telling me why you're here and then you may enter...THE HALL OF MAN!"

After they signed in, he dramatically opened the door to the Danger shop where they were faced with their first challenge.

Challenge One - Suit Up!

Challenge Two - The Cigar Bar

Students sent on from Challenge One will find themselves in a cigar bar. Your mission: Attempt to smoke a simulated cigar (or a bubblegum one) and drink a simulated brandy (or iced tea).

Challenge Three - Laser Tag

Ping in and Barney will attack you. Hit him twice or be hit twice to move on.

Valentine wasn't entirely certain that he was capable of putting on any of these suits. Nothings was suitably flashy or floppy for a performer of his particular level of talent and charm.

Even so, he managed to put something together that was halfway presentable, consisting of a plum dress shirt, a black necktie, black slacks, and coattails.

Coattails were floppy enough. Mostly.

Valentine sat down for food, grinning from ear to ear. In his hand, he had a sheet of paper (with a morning schedule on it, complete with circles and lines and a paragraph on the back explaining what he would like to do with all of his free mornings).

He was waiting for Namine.

He made a reach for the 'brandy' and attempted to look casual about it.

Valentine disliked laser tag. Valentine knew he disliked it because of a mad science class earlier in the semester.

In which he learned that everyone else in the world had x-ray vision, or something.

Later, he was informed that it was because he had no peripheral vision to speak of, but he still didn't know entirely what that meant.

Needless to say, Valentine was absolutely horrible at this.

Valentine found the battleship on his very first shot, and proceeded to sink it right away.

And then he fell victim to the most spectacular array of enemy tactics, ever, not actually finding any other ships until the end of the game, when he lost most spectacularly.

Barney looked over Valentine's selection. "I'd skip the coattails, but they somehow work for you," he admitted. "You may move along!"

Barney, dressed like a Laser Tag ninja, rolled out from behind a large boulder and took a shot at Valentine's chestplate.

Because laser tag is AWESOME!

Bob Barker appeared in front of Valentine. Rod was unavailable to announce the showcases so he had to lower himself and tell the students about them himself. A large showcase spun into view. "Valentine, showcase number one begins with a Mystery! What is everyone's favorite room in the house?"

The vocal yet absent studio audience yelled, "The game room!"

"And here is yours, Valentine! Starting with a velvet painting of dogs playing poker, your new game room includes a broken vintage pool table, a set of steak knives, and brand new laser tag equipment. Okay, Valentine! Do you bid or pass?"

Unfortunately for Valentine, laser tag happened to be slightly more AWESOME! than he was, and he took the shot before he even knew what was going on.

Great. Another opponent with x-ray vision.

He attempted to shoot back, a daunting task, given his field of vision was so very limited with his wee little pinhole eyes.

Valentine stared long and hard at the items placed out before him.

The steak knives he could possibly juggle, if he was in the mood to lose a hand. The rest...

"Might I place a bid of zero? I don't think I would actually like to spend money on any of those things."

Eugh, laser tag.

"You have to aim," Barney called out to him, as the shot missed him.

He sprinted spastically around Valentine, shooting repeatedly, and thinking he was like an action movie star.

Bob rolled his eyes. This was worse than the time with the showcase proposal. "No, you either bid a monetary value or pass the showcase to your opponent and see what's in showcase number two," Bob explained, thoroughly annoyed that anyone didn't know how to play his game.
