Modern Feminism: From Susan B Anthony to Bea Arthur - Second Period - 09/05

As the students filed into the classroom, a certain song played on repeat until everyone was there. And then for a little while longer because it amused Deadpool so very much.

"Oh Bea, is there anything you can't do?" He sighed dreamily, gazing off at a spot that very well might be a thought bubble with her image in it, but that's neither here nor there.

"Gooooood morning kiddies! And welcome to Modern Feminism! I hope you're all here to learn about the women who made our lives so much easier. Your lives. The womenfolk. As I am of the Y chromosome persuasion." Deadpool coughed awkwardly, vaguely wondering if having a husband made him teaching this class okay with the womenfolk.

Okay, so he just liked the phrase womenfolk.

(Womenfolk. Heh.)

"Today, being the first day, is, as always, a blow off. Because if I didn't make it so, I'd have to egg my own house," He told them seriously. "So let's get started on the condescending intro activities and introduce ourselves! Tell everyone your name, why you're here, why Bea Arthur is a goddess among women, and what your strong womyn-- that's with a y, by the way-- name is."

"My name is Beauty Huston, and I'm here because I thought a class about important women sounded interesting. And because it's not the sort of thing they teach where I come from." She hesitated, because now she was moving on to the hard questions. "I...am afraid I've never heard of Bea Arthur, but as her name is in the class title, she must be very important. And so I'm looking forward to learning about her. I'm afraid I also don't understand what you mean by a strong woman name, or why it has to be spelled with a 'y'. Although my name is spelled with a 'y', so is that all right then?"

Beauty looked uncertain.

"I should say the word 'Beauty' with more...anger?"
