No-Nonsense Sexual Education - Monday, Period 1 - Class 1

Lulu swept into the classroom, her long skirt, a collection of intertwined belts, rustling against itself as she stepped. Her presence was unmistakeable, as were her... obvious endowments, which likely drew the attention of every male in the room -- or anyone interested in women, at least -- and even the others would likely notice the fact that she must use either tape or magic to hold up her dress, and more likely magic as tape seemed insufficient.

"Good afternoon," came her voice, smooth and confident. "My name is Lulu, and in this class we will be discussing many of the changes and new experiences you will discover, or have already discovered, as part of your adolescence.

"I do wish to maintain," she continued, "a safe and productive environment for all of my students; with this in mind, I'd like to set some expectations for within this classroom. If you all please sign these forms, and look over the requirements for the course? You will find those attached."

Lulu sat on the edge of her desk, leaing forward; her bosom threatened to overflow her dress. "We are going to be speaking of sex," she said, low and bluntly. "This is a topic with which many people are uncomfortable. Certainly in my own world, we are only now, after some drastic political changes, learning to discuss these topics with any openness, and I understand, having done some research upon arriving here, that many of your worlds are in similar, if not stricter, situations, while others are much more open about this topic.

"My expectations for you are, first, that you approach our discussions with an open mind, as you may find certain of your beliefs challenged as we discuss the myths and stereotypes that surround sex and sexual acts; second, that you listen to your classmates without judgment, as you may find that they enjoy different acts and different aspects thereof than do you, and this does not make them necessarily immoral or wrong, merely different -- if you'll pardon the repetition. Third," Lulu continued, stepping back down to the floor and standing tall, "I do wish to impress upon you that no question is too outrageous; there are many things believed about sex that have no basis in the truth, and the only way to discover that truth is to speak of what we already believe we know. I hope to challenge your assumptions, and in doing so educate you to the best of my ability."

She turned to the blackboard and began writing upon it as she spoke. "For today," Lulu said, "I thought it might be best if we limited ourselves to introductions. If you would, I'd like you give the class your name, what education you've had, and also, if you feel comfortable discussing it, what experience. Also, I'd like to introduce you to my TA, Rikku; she will be more than willing to discuss anything with you if you feel uncomfortable coming to me."

[OOC: Please wait for OCD. It should be noted that this will probably go NSFW, just due to subject matter being discussed. Your mileage may vary, restrictions may apply in some provinces, see in store for more details. OCD is up!]

Rikku scooted her chair a little closer, and tried to see if Lulu was okay with her stepping in. She figured she was slightly less intimidating, what with the nonexistent cleavage and all, and hey, TAs were supposed to help, right?

"All I ever heard were jokes made my older brother's friends," she said quickly. "Rude ones that they never explained. Pops didn't even tell me about -" think of a good euphemism, Rikku "- monthlies. So when that happened, I was kinda scared, you know?"

No offense to Lulu, of course -- Anne wasn't quite that reckless that she would dream of offending someone whose presence intimidated her that much -- but Rikku was much less daunting to deal with. She finally mustered up the courage to raise her head from the desk, swallow, and take a deep breath.

"I was more scared of that before it happened," she admitted, grateful for the comparatively less awkward topic. "But of course, everything I knew about that came from Mrs. Hammond, who had eight children and wasn't exactly a well-bred woman herself, so she made it sound absolutely terrifying."

Anne frowned, the vestiges of embarrassment still evident on her brow. "I've gotten used to a great many things since I came here, but I don't know that I can get used to talking about . . . this . . . just yet."

"You knew it was coming?" Rikku shuddered. "I didn't. I thought something, uh. Went wrong." And she was still pretty pissed at her Pops for that one. He could teach her to throw a punch and not bother to mention that?

"I think ... I think that ... I mean, everybody does eventually, right? So it's better to ... at least know about things. I think things are always less scary when you know what's happening, yeah? Unless you're hearing from someone like that Mrs. Hammond." She made a face, and then lowered her voice a little. "Lulu's an old friend of mine. She's ... I know she seems kinda intimidating? But she's really nice. We, uh, we got stuck in a huge thunderstorm once, and I was terrified, 'cause I got hit by lightning once. And everybody thought I was being stupid, except Lulu, who went, 'well, you know, there are spells that deal with Lightning and work against it. I could teach you.' And even if I had never used them, I felt ... safer, just knowing them. Like I wasn't helpless."

"Mrs. Hammond had three sets of twins," elaborated Anne, with a shudder that spoke volumes. "There was a great deal of talk about curses -- when she didn't think I could hear her, most of the time, mind you. It was not exactly the most edifying thing for my peace of mind."

She cast a speculative glance at Lulu, and spoke in confidential tones. "Appearances can be more deceiving than usual on this island, can't they? I suppose I can see how she could be a very nice person. She's just not what I'm used to."

Rikku made a face. "She sounds like she wasn't a good person to be around. Ugh. And she called it a curse? I mean, it's annoying, but ... you know. Wow. Way to scare the crap out of people."

And she leaned in just a little, lowering her voice as well. "They really can. And she's ... very protective of people she cares about, and really kind. Maybe you should go talk to her sometime. She made me tea and asked about my friends and stuff like that. I think maybe ..." She bit her lip, thinking. "I think maybe she's being extra-Intimidating today just so ... people don't get the wrong idea? And start making rude jokes like those drunken guys down at somebody's sawmill, like you were saying. 'Cause that would be really awkward, yeah?"

That made a great deal of sense to Anne, who could only imagine all too easily what would have happened if, say, Mr. Phillips had attempted to teach this subject to the unruly boys of Avonlea school. In truth, she would have given a great deal to see the look on Charlie Sloane's face should he ever try to cut up in front of Lulu!

"That would be unbearable," agreed Anne, not sparing the italics. "And . . . I suppose I shall go talk to her sometime. Perhaps not today, but sometime soon."

After all, she'd despised Mrs. Lynde at first, but once they'd gotten to know each other they had gotten along famously.

Rikku was all right with italics. She was rather a fan of them herself.

"She's really nice in person. Promise. Ask her to show you her Onion Knight, it's a little doll that's sort of charmed to follow her around and help out. Very cute."

"A doll? Really?" Anne's eyes lit up with enough enthusiasm to drive away some of her discomfort. "I would like to see that . . ."

"She's got a Moogle and a Cactuar, too. They're adorable." Rikku beamed. "You should totally go talk to her, just to see them tiptoeing around. It's way cool."

Anne tried to imagine her rather ominous-looking teacher with animated dolls tiptoeing around -- which, for her, was of course not hard at all, although it took a bit more effort than her usual imaginings. "I'd like to see that, very much. You've eased my mind tremendously. Thank you so much!"
