Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

Amazingly enough, this part of the lawn looked pretty clear. For the moment, at least.

Lee might have subtly been looking to see if all girls carried glitter. Or not so subtly. Lee wasn't that smooth.

"You don't have glitter, do you?" Lee asked, not answering the question.

"Wouldn't even know what to do with it," said Jaina, who obviously didn't get the right newbie orientation, and she was okay with that. "Are you asking everyone that question?"

"No." He shook his head. "Just everyone now that I've met Buffy."

"At least it's a good conversation-starter. So why are you asking?" she wondered. Because while she'd met Buffy, glitter hadn't come up.

"I don't want to kiss another guy," he explained. "Glitter does that."

"Depends on what you mean by okay," Lee answered. "I'm still...in one piece."

"My grandfather and uncle are here from a different reality and they're both nearly my age," she said easily.

"Place called Caprica," he answered. "Not anywhere near here. You?"

That sounded familiar, but she couldn't remember why at the moment. "Coruscant. Also nowhere near here. It's a slight culture shock." Because while Jaina had been to many many many planets, living on them was entirely different.

"Never heard of Coruscant," he said. "How long you been here?"

"Different galaxy, probably. I got here at the beginning of the summer, but I'll be staying on for fall," she said. "I guess I'm not a newbie anymore."

"I do," she said. "The weirdness keeps things interesting and some of the people here are just great. And the classes are a big help."
