Library [Saturday Evening]

If anyone was to look in the right direction, they might have seen the lights on in the library. The door was unlocked and Thursday was inside. Friday was off safely in the BookWorld with the Bradshaws, both of whom had strict instructions about what to do if she didn't contact them by morning. That was one thing she didn't have to worry about, but it didn't stop her from occasionally glancing up from her reading to eye the door cautiously.

He may have been doing exactly the same, frowning as he took in the added injuries.

"It's a library. It's hardly jail."

She chuckled then winced. "It's special collections. It's...a weird type of space. She'll be trapped there in whatever scenario the collection throws at her."

"Trapped by books?" Roy asked confused, he stepped closer as she winced, trying to keep from reaching for her as he inspected the injuries. "I told you not to make me buy more bandages."

"It's more like a weird bit of a dimension, I think," Aly said. "You should talk to the librarian. She knows more than I do." She frowned. "It was difficult to avoid. Worth it though. Didn't help a bomb was set off two feet from me."

That explained the burns. Roy frowned and reached up to touch her hair. "She had bombs?"

"No, that was an accident, I think," she said. "Happens." She eyed him. "What about you? Though you were going to stay out of the way of the spells."

"I'm not nearly as bad as you," Roy argued immediately.

"Whether that's true or not, you should go to the clinic," she said. "You look worse than you did."

He paused, but knew he had her.

"It's true so if you think I should go, then you should as well."

"No," she said, paying no attention to the blood still dripping off her arm onto the carpet every so often.

"I could carry you," he offered, his eyes determined. "You need stitches and your excuse not to go is gone now."

Aly frowned. "You are not carrying me."

"Good because I really don't know if I won't drop you halfway there and that would hurt," Roy replied, sounding as if she'd just agreed to go.

"Good," he said, actually sounding relieved as he hadn't been looking forward to hurting her that much. "And that's the last time this season. You're maxed out now."

"I don't mind that idea too much," Aly agreed. "But then it's only fair for you too."

She chuckled though she tried not to. "I promise I'll go."

He smiled back a little and reached up to touch her cheek. "See? Almost got you following orders," he whispered.
