Vala wasn't at all downcast as she watched her students arrive in the Danger ~~Room~~ Shop as she'd ~~handwavily~~ notified them to, for the last class of the summer. Really.

"Good morning, everyone. Before we start, I'd like to say how much I've enjoyed teaching you and hope you've found it to be as useful as I'd hoped you would. Also, I know this is a vast area, especially for those of you who may be more inexperienced, so if you ever have any questions, I have two ears and they're both mostly sympathetic. It also turns out I have an office, so you can find me there occasionally as well."

She cleared her throat. "At the end of class, there will be an opportunity to ask for answers to questions that are still bothering you. First, however, I'd like you to attempt a simulated date. No," she glanced at Jeff, "you can't have safety padding this time. But this isn't a high-pressure situation, either. You're just having a nice, quiet dinner in a lovely little bistro with someone ~~whose ship you hijacked~~ you saw on the street, thought looked interesting, and asked to join you. Your job is to make conversation and leave, without getting food dumped on you or a drink thrown in your face."

A fire extinguisher was also in a prominent and visible place next to every romantic candlelit table for two, just in case.

She worried at her lower lip, uncharacteristically solemn. "Now, as I ruin the mood completely, I'd ask you to please stay away from the woman who's squatting in Principal Washburn's office. If she calls you down there, don't go. Don't pull stupid pranks and don't vow eternal revenge. She's very definitely unbalanced and needs professional help. You have teachers--let us take care of the problem, just this once. None of you should be hurt."

"Thank you all for a wonderful class, and I hope you have fun."

Cheating, schmeating.

Savannah dropped into the chair with a grin.

"Hey you," he smirked, checking her out.

"Hey yourself." She was checking him out right back.

"Looking good, sweetheart." Johnny winked at her and waved the waiter over. "What'll you have to drink?"

Savannah grinned. "So do you. Tea for me, thank you."

"Tea for me as well," he said and reached across the table to hold her hand. "How are you feeling?"

Savannah squeezed his hand. "Sore. I have cheer camp and you know me.. I don't know when to quit." She smiled. "Did some flips and handstands and kicks and my shoulder." She shrugged lightly. "You doing okay?"

"Take it easy at cheer camp, no need to overdo it, you know?" He slouched a bit in his chair, his foot coming up along side her chair as he stretched out his leg. "I can't complain right now."

She smiled at him. "Gonna massage my neck if it gets too sore?" she teased.

He gave her a lopsided grin. "Baby, I'll massage more than that if you'll let me."

And that would be when Savannah blushed a bright, bright red and ducked her head to try and hide it behind her hair.

God she was so damn cute when she blushed. "Would you like that, Savannah?"

"You make it very hard to concentrate, Johnny," she said from beneath her hair.

"Do I?" he asked her low, his voice husky. "I just want you to answer me, sweetie. My hands are strong, warm, a massage would definitely feel good."

"After the last two weeks I've had... I think I would really like a massage, Johnny."

"I would love to give you one -- you just let me know when and I'm all yours."

She almost said "You're all mine, anyway," but didn't. Yes, for once she didn't say the first thing that popped into her mind.

"Later on tonight?" She smiled. "I have something I need to do after Cheer Camp...and then I may need some beach and beating things up time..."

Because Serenity Cove was so far her best place to meditate, relax... beat rocks up with her shoulder...

Johnny would love it if she said the first thing that was on her mind. He pretty much always did.

"Tonight it is. And you can beat me up if you want."

Savannah smiled at him. "I don't think I want to beat you up. I like you too much." She nodded. "Tonight it is." She was quiet for a moment. "I'm telling Chris this afternoon."

That had him tensing up. "Do you want me to be there with you for that?"

Savannah shook her head. "It's not like I'm in danger from him, sweetheart, but..." She squeezed his hand. "Thank you for that." She met his eyes. "I promised him that if things changed, he would hear it from me... and the last thing I need is for Summer to come after me again because he wasn't told by me."
