Vala wasn't at all downcast as she watched her students arrive in the Danger ~~Room~~ Shop as she'd ~~handwavily~~ notified them to, for the last class of the summer. Really.

"Good morning, everyone. Before we start, I'd like to say how much I've enjoyed teaching you and hope you've found it to be as useful as I'd hoped you would. Also, I know this is a vast area, especially for those of you who may be more inexperienced, so if you ever have any questions, I have two ears and they're both mostly sympathetic. It also turns out I have an office, so you can find me there occasionally as well."

She cleared her throat. "At the end of class, there will be an opportunity to ask for answers to questions that are still bothering you. First, however, I'd like you to attempt a simulated date. No," she glanced at Jeff, "you can't have safety padding this time. But this isn't a high-pressure situation, either. You're just having a nice, quiet dinner in a lovely little bistro with someone ~~whose ship you hijacked~~ you saw on the street, thought looked interesting, and asked to join you. Your job is to make conversation and leave, without getting food dumped on you or a drink thrown in your face."

A fire extinguisher was also in a prominent and visible place next to every romantic candlelit table for two, just in case.

She worried at her lower lip, uncharacteristically solemn. "Now, as I ruin the mood completely, I'd ask you to please stay away from the woman who's squatting in Principal Washburn's office. If she calls you down there, don't go. Don't pull stupid pranks and don't vow eternal revenge. She's very definitely unbalanced and needs professional help. You have teachers--let us take care of the problem, just this once. None of you should be hurt."

"Thank you all for a wonderful class, and I hope you have fun."

Johnny would love it if she said the first thing that was on her mind. He pretty much always did.

"Tonight it is. And you can beat me up if you want."

Savannah smiled at him. "I don't think I want to beat you up. I like you too much." She nodded. "Tonight it is." She was quiet for a moment. "I'm telling Chris this afternoon."

That had him tensing up. "Do you want me to be there with you for that?"

Savannah shook her head. "It's not like I'm in danger from him, sweetheart, but..." She squeezed his hand. "Thank you for that." She met his eyes. "I promised him that if things changed, he would hear it from me... and the last thing I need is for Summer to come after me again because he wasn't told by me."

Johnny nodded and he guessed he could understand. "I'm sorry for it, Savannah, if it's hard for you."

"Why are you sorry, Johnny? Are you regretting this?"

"Having to let anyone down, is rough," he said, squeezing her hand. "And hell no, I'm not regretting anything."

She leaned over and kissed him gently. "I'm glad."

Johnny put his hand behind her head and pulled her back towards him for another kiss. His tongue crept out and lingered over her bottom lip. "Tell me your not regretting it, sweetheart."

"I'm not regretting it," she assured him.

"Chris couldn't change your mind, could he?" He asked her seriously.

Savannah blinked. "No more than Ronan could change yours," she said.

He cocked his head. "What is that supposed to mean, Savannah?"

"Why do you think Chris could change my mind," she asked quietly. "I want to be with you... just you."

"I don't think he could, necessarily. I just don't want him trying to persuade you," he said low. He thought Chris didn't much care for him given his mannerisms when he was around. At least this was Johnny's take.

He smiled and caressed her cheek. "I want you to be with me, Savannah. Just me."

Savannah smiled and leaned into his touch. "Just you and me."

"You and me," he warmed his hand against her cheek, winking at her.

She loved it when he did that. She smiled. "So, if I'm not back by dark?"

"Heaven help you," he grinned slyly. "Because I will come after you."

Savannah wasn't all that sure that a place such as Heaven existed or that it would ever help her.

She smiled. "Would it help you if I told you where I'd be, just in case?"

"It would," he said. He was going to ask her anyway because he felt he should know where she was going to be, just in case he had to go looking for her. Never know what can happen in Fandom.
