Vala wasn't at all downcast as she watched her students arrive in the Danger ~~Room~~ Shop as she'd ~~handwavily~~ notified them to, for the last class of the summer. Really.

"Good morning, everyone. Before we start, I'd like to say how much I've enjoyed teaching you and hope you've found it to be as useful as I'd hoped you would. Also, I know this is a vast area, especially for those of you who may be more inexperienced, so if you ever have any questions, I have two ears and they're both mostly sympathetic. It also turns out I have an office, so you can find me there occasionally as well."

She cleared her throat. "At the end of class, there will be an opportunity to ask for answers to questions that are still bothering you. First, however, I'd like you to attempt a simulated date. No," she glanced at Jeff, "you can't have safety padding this time. But this isn't a high-pressure situation, either. You're just having a nice, quiet dinner in a lovely little bistro with someone ~~whose ship you hijacked~~ you saw on the street, thought looked interesting, and asked to join you. Your job is to make conversation and leave, without getting food dumped on you or a drink thrown in your face."

A fire extinguisher was also in a prominent and visible place next to every romantic candlelit table for two, just in case.

She worried at her lower lip, uncharacteristically solemn. "Now, as I ruin the mood completely, I'd ask you to please stay away from the woman who's squatting in Principal Washburn's office. If she calls you down there, don't go. Don't pull stupid pranks and don't vow eternal revenge. She's very definitely unbalanced and needs professional help. You have teachers--let us take care of the problem, just this once. None of you should be hurt."

"Thank you all for a wonderful class, and I hope you have fun."

"Why do you think Chris could change my mind," she asked quietly. "I want to be with you... just you."

"I don't think he could, necessarily. I just don't want him trying to persuade you," he said low. He thought Chris didn't much care for him given his mannerisms when he was around. At least this was Johnny's take.

He smiled and caressed her cheek. "I want you to be with me, Savannah. Just me."

Savannah smiled and leaned into his touch. "Just you and me."

"You and me," he warmed his hand against her cheek, winking at her.

She loved it when he did that. She smiled. "So, if I'm not back by dark?"

"Heaven help you," he grinned slyly. "Because I will come after you."

Savannah wasn't all that sure that a place such as Heaven existed or that it would ever help her.

She smiled. "Would it help you if I told you where I'd be, just in case?"

"It would," he said. He was going to ask her anyway because he felt he should know where she was going to be, just in case he had to go looking for her. Never know what can happen in Fandom.

"Serenity Cove," she said with a faint smile. "That's where I plan to go after I talk to him."

"Then I will find you there," he told her and took a drink of his tea.

Savannah nodded and took a drink from her own glass. "I know."

"Then we'll go home together..." he said, eyes on hers.

Savannah didn't look away from his eyes. "Never doubt it."

Johnny was having wicked thoughts about his girlfriend right now and the look he was giving her might convey that. But no one this side of normal could blame him; she was so damn beautiful with a killer body. The combination of that with her endearing personality was fascinatingly tempting, turning him on.

Savannah was beginning to understand that look and she smiled slowly. "Evil thoughts, sweetheart?"

He held up his thumb and forefinger, "Maybe a little?"

Savannah laughed softly. "Thoughts that will make me turn red again?"

"And hopefully warm," he teased.

Savannah laughed again, but that didn't stop the blush. "You like making me turn red, don't you?"

"You're beautiful, Savannah," he said softly, his eyes moving over her face.

And that would be the blush deepening. She was never sure how to react when someone complimented her looks.

She met his eyes. "I think you're pretty handsome, Johnny."

He grinned. "Why thank you, sweetheart."

Savannah grinned back at him.
