Flight and Flying [Thursday, August 23, 3rd period]

Anakin was waiting for the students on the top of the apartment building in town, leaning up against a Lambda-class Imperial shuttle.

"Welcome to the Virgo," he said with a small smile before giving them a quick rundown of the general specifications of the ship. "It's twenty meters long and is generally used to ferry soldiers or cargo back home," he said. "It's also equipped with a hyperdrive--which we will not be using--as well as two forward-facing double laser cannons, two wing-mounted double cannons, and a rear-facing double laser cannon." He met each student's eyes. "Which we will definitely not be using. We're going to do a quick swing around the system here--we won't go out as far as Pluto, but since it's not a planet any longer, I doubt it will be that offended."

He waved a hand towards the ramp. "Come aboard."

Anemone was trying very hard to sit still and not let her pride in the previous evening's actions go leaking out of her brain. Somehow she doubted Master Skywalker would be amused with their prank.

Well, he might be. After all, she hadn't gone in the office, and they had been very careful to stay away from the crazy lady. Still, she did her best to keep her glee internal.

Anakin caught some of it anyway and gave Anemone a flat stare. "Away from her," he repeated icily.

"I was." Anemone did her best to look contrite. "Crazy, not stupid."

He didn't look convinced. Or amused. "Uh-huh."

Anemone didn't look amused either, and let the image of that large, beautiful block of ice from last night fill her mind. "I know better than to come to the attention of self-proclaimed kings, the messiahs come to save us from ourselves. I was there to make sure my less-discreet classmates didn't do anything stupider, like sign their names."

Anakin rolled his eyes. "Around here, not an unreasonable assumption to make. Do they all have to march into that office to get tossed around like rags?"

"They don't know any better." Anemone shrugged. "I don't know if I should be happy that they're that idealistic, or give in to the urge to break their legs myself. My personal rebellion has consisted of telling people to refuse to give her any legitimacy by ignoring the office summons, and trying to organize the students to work together rather than just random pranking. It's like herding cats."

"Are you lumping all of us students in as really stupid cats, or just the repeat offenders? Because I resent being put in the same category as the office masochists." Anemone replied dryly. "I'm working on this whole 'no maiming people I dislike' thing, and I'd like to think I'm making some progress by using the much-touted Civil Disobedience instead."

Anakin nodded. "I'll give you credit for that. I'm also pleased to see you not rending your garments over the merely inconvenient punishments."
