Construction: Wednesday August 8th, all day

There's a roof, yes. What there isn't -- or at least what's chugging along in the basement trying to start, and hasn't reached most of the areas still under construction -- is air conditioning.

Yeah.

"Your mission, should you choose to accept it, and I think you will, is to go through all the floors and get the AC ducts open," Xander tells the graduate workers. "The sooner it's done, the sooner you don't have to actually swim through the halls. At least until the next flood."

Heavy work requiring hardhats and suspension braces, obviously. Or not. There are dust masks, though. It might require a little crawling through ducts, but ~~mod that as you choose~~ not much.

Set up in the school lobby with the doors open so y'all and your guests don't melt.

It might actually be a little cooler by now! Though that also means the hallways are dustier, as all that construction byproduct gets blown around.

Though it's less with the "safe distance" anymore, and more with the "following people through the halls watching them work."

You might find him frowning and muttering "rssnnnfrssnnn {unintelligible} curfew..." while he works.

Crawling through ducts? That's what Dibs do best! (Other than screaming in fear.) Dib skipped the easy way and kept to the ducts. It was faster for him that way.

If Xander actually saw him, he'd probably frown and point out that students aren't zoned for the construction crew; it's a safety hazard. Depending on how good Dib was at getting around those ducts, though, it might be a might big if.

That got a smile out of him, if a guilty one. "Hey, roomie!"

"Don't get me started on the roomie thing. Did you here about what's her face's decree?" she asked. "She'd be making one of us move out. No co-ed rooms allowed."

Xander made a face. "I'm not loving this curfew concept, either."

"It's asinine," Isabel said. "Like we're not capable of making sure we get enough sleep? That woman's just grasping at any little bit of control she can get. But I think she can keep grasping because she's not going to get any."

Anders came stalking up to Xander with full scowly-face going.

"Harris, I don't suppose there's any way we can wall up the principal in there by accident, is there?"

Bel grumbled a little. He'd rather be doing some physically intensive work to get some of his rage out, but he'd make do.

No sense getting the shirt dirty, then.

At other things, Dib might be quite the nuisance. But ducts had been the best way to get around Zim's base without being noticed, and so Dib had a lot of experience in them. He was very quiet, and aside from the odd sounds of muttering to himself and opening closed sections, Dib didn't make a sound.

Having done all he could inside the ducts, Dib brushed the dust off his knees and went to work outside of them.

. . . well, no, Anders didn't actually have cheeseburgers, but he was here.

Bel did hope he had food of some kind.

What kind of boyfriend would he be if he didn't?

"Hope a chicken Caesar salad works for you today," Anders remarked, tapping his fingers significantly against the handle of the basket he was holding.

"Salad?" Bel said, making a face.

Xander gave an unhappy shrug. "It's not like the principal can't say students have to sleep in the dorms or whatever. They just never did did before, except when there was badness on the loose."

Xander raised an eyebrow. "Building code tends to frown on that."
