How to be a Comic Book Superhero - Outside the Kwik Stop, Monday

For once, Silent Bob was without his sidekick. Jay certainly wasn't hiding out wherever they slept after his run-in with local law enforcement and their conversation about appropriate behaviour around minors. He looked a little crestfallen, but would soldier on without his translator.

The whiteboard was back. There was a title: "Witty repartee - to monologue or not to monologue?"

There were lists. "GOOD - see all Lightning Bug", "BAD - last two chapters of Barry Plodder"

There were whiteboard markers and a stack of comic books for reference material.

[[Wait for OCD and there's an OOC post going up in Jude's journal in a second about my availability. OCD's up, play away!]]

A.J. had his best hopeful expression on his face as he looked around for someone to partner up with. This could be fun; he was thinking of whether he should mimick his banter style more after Mark or Lucas. Both of them had such superior, though different, repartee skills that he admired.

"You there!" Luke ponced overenunciated. "You'll never get away with galactic domination through papercuts!"

A.J. had to take a moment, eyes closed shut tightly, to attempt to keep in a snort of a laugh, but he got over it quickly with a deep breath, straightening his shoulders and demanding, in his best, booming overlord voice, which was very over-acted and not at all intimidating, "I'd like to see you just try and stop me, weak peon!"

Luke bit back a fit of the giggles. "Oh, I will stop you," he said, waggling his eyebrows and strutting. "No one does evil in front of the Kid!"

Oh, God. The strutting was just not fair. Not fair! A.J. had to take a moment, hand covering his face, to keep from laughing, before he was able to shake it off, shake it off. He quickly reached over and ripped a sheet of paper from his notebook and shook it menacingly at Luke the Kid. "Just watch me!"

Luke frantically looked around and emerged triumphant with...a pair of scissors. "Everyone knows that scissors beat paper, you fiend!"

"NoooooOOOOoooo!" A.J. sunk slightly and paid Luke's dad, paper waving in the air in the air as he attempted to shake his fist. "Curse you! To think I left my rock in my other suit of evil!"

"That's why good defeats evil!" Luke postured. "Because we have dayplanners and to do lists!"

"I can't be faulted at the fact that my wife left it at the dry cleaners!" A.J. argued back. "She'd lose her head if I hadn't reattached it with superthread when I had to cut it off last weekend."

"Maybe she'd pay better attention if you stopped conducting experiments on her. Just a thought."

A.J. rolled his eyes. "Could you be any more good? Seriously. She knew what she was getting into when she said those vows. You can't marry an evil overlord and not expect these sorts of things."

"If she'd just stayed with my second cousin none of this would've happened," Luke totally made up improvised.

"What can I say?" A.J. shrugged innocently. "Chicks dig evil."

"That's completely unfair," Luke said, pouting.

"Life's unfair, but, hey, if you join the Dark Side, Luke become evil, then you'd be on the fair side. And get all the chicks." Because that A.J. He knew all about getting chicks....

Luke had a mental image of Darth Vader and the late Emperor out on Coruscant trying to pick up women and shuddered.

"Think I'll give it a pass, thanks."
