Library [07/15]

The library was open again and there was plenty of coffee for all. Don't get it on the books.

[ETA: After this thread the library would be barricaded up to defend against raptors.]

Harriet looked back at him. "Discovered." A sinking feeling was creeping up on her. Friday, the dinosaurs had appeared Friday, and it had been a long time since she'd believed in coincidence. "Perhaps at the bottom of a hole?" she suggested gently.

"It was Hades' fault!" Fraser exclaimed, surprising even himself. "Well, partly."

Hades appeared in the doorway. "Always you mortals and your blaming of the gods for everything goes wrong in your life. It's a hard existence, you know, being blamed for everything being not good enough or for messing with you. Which, hey, if I put the effort in, I'll take the credit, but it's the incidental things that get to a god after a while." He looked at his nails, then back at the library's inhabitants. "Or not, but I had ya going there for a second. So anyway, I've had my fill of entertainment," and he got the feeling that if this kept up, plenty of death was coming Fandom's way and unless he planned it, he wasn't into that. "So, Mountie, how's about the trio gets back together, we venture off to that hole and you fix it while I watch you get everyone out of trouble or fail miserably. It's a win-win situation for me."

"Yes." Harriet nodded firmly, making a mental note to speak to Hades about his notion of entertainment. Later. "We were the ones who started this, so we should be the ones to finish it." She turned a beaming smile on Fraser. "What do you say? Shall we see about sending these dinosaurs back where they belong?"

Fraser, still feeling somewhat embarrassed about being the one to disturb the smooth stones, nodded weakly.

"We shall," he said. "Finish it, yes. We shall."

"Yeah, sure, the more the merrier. One teensy, tiny little thing." Hades jerked a thumb over his shoulder. "I may have inadvertently, that means unin-" He was cut off.

"Okay, okay, just trying to be helpful," Hades said mock-defensively. "There might be a pack of raptors coming this way. Just thought you might want to know." He grinned and held the door open for Fraser and Harriet. "Let's get this show on the road!"

"Raptors," Fraser muttered. "Wonderful."

Harriet slanted a look at Hades, more amused than anything else, then smiled at Fraser again. "Come on," she said as she walked through the door. "We'll show those raptors exactly what an RCMP officer, a God of the Dead and an Applied Ethics teacher are capable of."
