Sabriel wasn't sure where Svedee was, but she was glad the chef was back. She celebrated by loading her plate with a cheeseburger and fries. She debated for a moment, and then grabbed a colourful looking pop as well.

She went to sit down, and then pulled out Amethyst Flower. It was a really great read.

A.J. didn't think he had meant to find the cafeteria. He was just sort of wandering around to get used to the place. But he had found it, which was good, because he was hungry, and he got some food and tried to go over how he got here in his exploring so he could get here again.

A.J. lifted a hand back. "Hey, Fred. S'up?"

"Leaf, you enjoying your classes so far?" John Fred asked.

"They're awesome," A.J. Leaf said with a small bounce for enthusiasm. "I've had the How to be a Comic Book Superhero one and the How to Deal with Stupid People one so far. Lots of How-to. What about you? Good so far?"

"Oh, right I saw you were in Stupid People even though my mun has failed to sign me in yet," John said with a grin. "I'm looking forward to Scouting class next period and Dealing With the Opposite Sex on Friday."

"Scouting could be cool," A.J. Leaf said with a slight grin. "And I probably really should have taken that Opposite Sex class. So sharing your notes with me...And I feel like I said that already. Maybe that was someone else who was in the class, or I'm just already getting old and senile."

"Not me, but I'm more than happy to share notes." John added, "Of course, Mal Doran is teaching the class, so I don't know how many notes I'll be taking." What with Vala being all distractable and hot. "You taking any other classes?"

"Practical Applications and How to be Awesome," A.J. Leaf said. "Not that I need that second one, of course." His head tilted slightly. "Mal Doran equals fewer notes?"

"Mal Doran equals drool," John Fred replied. "I hadn't heard about the Awesome class. You'll have to tell me if you learn anything cool."

"Ah-ha," A.J. Leaf chuckled. "I'll have to keep an eye out for the drool, then. And I definitely will. Only fair that both of us are contributing our resources, you know?"

"It's a deal, Leaf." John Fred smiled. "I know I would have appreciated this sort of arrangement last semester."

John was pleased the cafeteria was open again. There were only so many flavors of pop tarts. He filled his plate with a cheeseburger, fries, and a healthy dollop of pudding and found a seat.

Andrew walked into the cafeteria and grabbed a huge plate of fries and a small salad. He scanned the room, saw John, and almost turned around to leave. He stopped, determined not to let one awkward encounter keep him from enjoy lunch the rest of this term. Besides, he felt pretty sure the boy was just being nice to him. Still... best to learn what he can about this John Sheppard before jumping to any conclusions.

That in mind, he sat directly behind John and stared at the back of his head. That was some hair.

John saw Wells enter the cafeteria and wondered if Annette was right that Wells thought John was a demon. When Wells sat directly behind him, John worried he was going to end up with water being spit in his hair.

From the back, John looked normal enough. He seemed very relaxed - maybe too relaxed. And what was that coating his fries?

John leaned on his left elbow, using his right hand to dip fries in pudding. Hey, they'd accidentally touched on the plate and it tasted good so he tried directly dipping. Between eating pudding fries and drinking water, John relaxed back in his chair and stretched his arms up in the air.

Whoa, Andrew thought to himself, that was not a normal lunch time maneuver. People don't just stretch like that. Maybe he knew he was being watched. Andrew peered closer. Was that... yes, it looked as though John had definitely dipped his elbow in some pudding.

John looked at his damp elbow. Great, pudding! He wiped it off with a napkin and resumed eating. Continuing eating, John noticed there weren't many students in the cafeteria. He wondered why Wells was sitting directly behind him and not at one of the other dozen free tables.

Andrew was wondering if John's hair would be stiff and rigid or fun and springy when he suddenly inhaled a fry down the wrong pipe. After a really loud and forced cough, the fry flew back out and onto the plate. He tried to look nonchalant and took a swig of his drink.

John heard Wells' cough and couldn't help but look over his shoulder to see if he was okay. John was so prepared for his fourth period boyscouting class.

As soon as John looked his way, Andrew turned around and looked over his own shoulder seeing if he could locate the source of the mysterious cough. Of course, no one was behind him. He kept looking, totally prepared to shrug in mock confusion if he turned around and John was still staring at him.

John raised an eyebrow. There wasn't anyone for Wells to be looking at. John didn't get why Wells was avoiding his gaze. Such a strange boy. Maybe he was a demon.

Andrew turned around to see John with his eyebrow all cocked. How does he do that. Andrew tried to cock his own eyebrow, which just squinched up his face all funny and made his nostrils flare out. Then he remembered to shrug -- hoping John would still buy it after the delay.

He went back to eating his fries. The ones on the opposite side of the plate from the one he had just hacked up.
