"That is good!" He eyed her expression curiously, but he wasn't sure if she was trying not to grin or not. Somehow, he had a feeling he didn't want to know. "I was wondering if you might be free at lunch time?"
"I was wondering," he said, fidgeting a little. "If your offer to help me find clothes more appropriate for the beach than these," he plucked at his robes, "is still good?"
He ducked his head, because he really was not sure about this. "Yes, that is what I was thinking, too. I have training this afternoon, and Molly and I are going riding in the morning, so I thought lunch time might work?"
"If you do not mind, I would like that." Karal carefully gathered his robe up and sat in a nearby chair. "Thank you, and yes, riding. Molly seems to enjoy it," he said with a small smile and a small flush. "She does not know how to ride, but Trenor is able to carry both of us. We are going to go in the ocean, tomorrow morning."
"I do hope so." Karal looked down at his hands and spread his fingers across his knees. "I like it when Molly is happy," he said quietly, then nodded at the paperwork. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
"Molly's sweet," Isabel smiled. "She deserves to be happy." She schuffled the papers into a pile. "No I think I'm good. Give me two minutes to lock up and we can go."
Karal nodded his agreement, happy to sit in the silence of the library while Isabel finished.
When she was finished, he followed her out of the library and onto the rather daunting task - daunting for someone who'd worn nothing but robes or riding clothes for the past 8 years - of acquiring beach appropriate clothing.
Sabriel came by the library to look for a book about Texas, and possibly see if there were more books by this Desmesnes lady. She was happily browsing the shelves.
Sabriel turned, and smiled. "Hi. I have found this book--" she held up a huge tome titled TEXAS. "--but I was wondering if there were any books here by Miss Demesnes?"
Isabel started heading over to the paperback fiction books. "That's the one that started it all. You'll want to read The Amethyst Flower next and then work down the list from there. There's four more after that. Five when The Ruby Heart comes out in August."
"Yup. And yup." She grinned, "For the record, one of my friends say that thing they do in the hammock? Is possible only if they're telepaths. Or know each other really, really well. And I'd say he has enough experience to know."
"Telepaths," Isabel repeated, perfectly serious. "It makes a certain kind of sense if you think about it. While their lips are otherwise occupied, they can mentally agree with direction to move in. Cause think about it, he moves one way and she goes the other? They'd end up on the floor."
