Arts & Crafts 6, Tuesday Afternoon

As usual, Steve was waiting for his workshoppers. Paper, pencils, and crayons were laid out on the tables, along with instruction sheets.

"Today," Steve began, "We're going to play around with something I'm very fond of: illustrations! I've provided some instructions to help get you started, but if you want to go beyond that, feel free. If you're one of those people who can barely draw stick figures, though, you might be better off sticking with the cartoonies. If you want any help or a second opinion, I'll be right here. Oh," he added after a moment, "as I'm sure most of you are already aware, next week is the last week of this workshop. You've been a great group, and we'll be having a special activity next week. Be sure to wear clothes you don't mind, er, ruining."

"I was doing pretty cool," Mikey said, his smile slipping into a frown. "But now I'm worried. What's up, dudette?"

Naminé considered for a moment before biting her lip. "Did you hear something about ... people going away this weekend? Someone's world in danger, that sort of thing."

Mikey didn't have to think hard to remember the sad state his roomie had been in when Rikku had left on Saturday morning. "Oh, yeah, something about going off to save the world. My roomie's girlfriend went, Jude-dude got all upset while she was gone." He titled his head curiously. "You know someone who went, too?"

Naminé nodded. "A boy with a mask. He didn't want to go, but I think it was his world. Are they back, then? They're all right? He seemed to fear it was a lost cause."

Mikey thought for a moment on that. "Well, Rikku is back, I know that much. But I dunno if your guy-friend-dude is back. Rikku would probably know, though. She's pretty cool."
He offered her his 'it'll be okay' smile. "With a dudette like Rikku tagging along, he's probably just fine. She's a fighter, yanno?"

Naminé smiled. "Is she a friend of yours? She sounds very nice. I believe that was his difficulty, that he wasn't a fighter. But in Fandom it seems one can't travel far without finding those who would protect you."

She let out a breath. "They're back, then. That's a relief. My apologies for prattling at you. How have you been? I hope your answer is more pleasant than mine."

Mikey smiled at her, satisfied that he had possibly somehow saved the day. It didn't take much to save the day in Fandom. Days were so much more saved when there were smiles involved.

"I've been good. Lots of pizza lately, which is proof that my roomie rocks. We'll have to do pizza sometime. Because pizza is better with buds around."

Yep, all was well with the world once more!

Naminé laughed; his enthusiasm was contagious. "He sounds very nice indeed. We shall all go for pizza sometime, perhaps. Or maybe have some in the common room? I wonder if Fina has ever made pizza. It isn't quite on their usual menu, I'd imagine."
