When students entered the Danger Shop, they would have found it looked a whole lot like a palace made entirely of clouds. That was because it was a palace made entirely of clouds. The area was surrounded by cloud pillars. There were cloud chairs scattered around and a cloud table off to the side with real food and plenty to drink. There was even a cloud sound system where DJ Apollo was playing some tunes for the godly audience (mostly a lot of Marvin Gaye and The Who).





"Welcome to Mount Olympus, home of the gods. As punishment for your crimes against the school, or for having really bad luck, you're now part of the Pantheon, minus the godly powers. And hey, yeah, what do you know? It's a family reunion. Feel the pain. Now get in there and make like a god."

Luke wasn't exactly sure of the point of this, but he sat down anyway. "What's a hot dog?"

"It's a sausage of processed meat in a long bun," Demeter explained. "You can add condiments if you'd like."

"...think I'll pass on the condiments," Luke said slowly as he saw what the food looked like. "You eat these for fun?"

"You couldn't pick something like shooting or, I don't know, macrame?" Luke asked as he tucked himself into a chair and piled a few hot dogs onto a plate.

"You might not want to spread the macrame thing around. Kids like you have been beaten up for less. 3...2...1...EAT!"

Demeter chowed down on the hot dogs like a ravenous goddess eating hot dogs.

Luke rapidly discovered he wasn't a huge hot dog fan.

He got through four of them before turning slightly green.

Demeter was already green and was onto her seventh hot dog when time ran out. "I won! I won!" she said, spraying food everywhere.

Hades looked unimpressed. "Don't throw up everywhere or you're cleaning it up."
