Construction Site: Thursday, 5/31, All Day

The site is still busy with ~~NPC~~ guys in hardhats and toolbelts running the heavy machinery, but an area's been set aside for the graduate workers to sort and stack some of the new loads of brick that have just been delivered. Hats, belts, eyewear and tools are provided as usual, as well as work-gloves in such fashionable color choices as orange, orange, or orange.

Workers and visitors might notice Xander eyeing the pink hardhat that might or might not have Conner's name on it now, but he isn't going to say anything. Considering Xander is now wearing the Galaxy Quest hat, who's he to judge?

"Well it just blew up not long ago. Maybe you're having flashbacks? Post traumatic school blowing up disorder?"

"Could be. Or there's the fact that a bunch of other versions of me blew up my first high school instead of coming here."

"See... I would have blown up the school as my first choice. Then again that would have been just fun for me."

"We did eventually destroy the town," Xander offered. Which had not exactly been on purpose and you couldn't quite call it fun, but there was a certain element of satisfaction there, somewhere.

"The whole town? Color me impressed Harris," Mel said with a smirk. "I always thought you guys were more of the save the town, save the world kind of people."

Xander coughed. "Occasionally in the process of saving the world, you implode a town here and there."

"There was more than one?"

"Well, if we're not counting what the girls did to that bar in Akron..... nah, just the one. So far."

"Everywhere we go property damage seems to follow. We must be an insurance company's worst nightmare."

"Shockingly, no. When you can prove you have a licensed contractor on staff for damage control..."

"So this job of yours is pretty much a walk in the park for you, isn't it? Plus? No girls tearing down all your work."

"This one?" Xander surveyed the reconstruction site. "....kinda yeah. I mean not that it's not hard work, but so far no dem... you know, I just almost said something really dumb."

"Does that mean you almost jinxed us? Or are we fully jinxed now. Doom to be destroyed by evil powers while in the midst of concrete."

Mel might be a little overdramatic for humor's sake.

Xander snickered. "Well, being on Fandon island increases our chances of it happening by about 85% anyway. I think I managed to avoid making it too much worse by not finishing the sentence."

Mel gave Xander an evil grin and then started shouting: "DEMON! DEMON! DEMON!"

Then she looked around the building site with a hopeful look on her face.

Xander pointed at her. "NO TWINKIES for you."

Mel tried to will a halo to appear over her head and batted her eyelashes at Xander.

"Not ever?"

There might have been pouting.

Xander covered his eye. "I CAN'T SEE YOU. If I can't see you, you can't make me fold like a cheap card table."

"But Xaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnder...." she whined.

Xander clapped both hands over his ears. Well the parts of his ears not already covered by the construction hat. "I CAN'T HEAR YOU EITHER."

"I could just take your phone," Mel said crossing her arms and giving him a look.

"You could not." Yes, she totally could. She's a Slayer; she could take his pants, if she wanted them. Hopefully she didn't.

Mel tried a different ploy and tried leaning up against Xander with her eyes looking big.

"Please?" she said with a mournful look combined with a bit lip and a chin wibble.

Look, it was hand her a twinkie or try to fight off the seizures caused by the uncontrollable eye-twitching, OKAY?

"You do realize they sell these in town, right?"

"It's more fun getting them from you," Mel said. "Plus most of mine were destroyed in a campfire. Accidentally."
