Construction Site: Thursday, 5/31, All Day

The site is still busy with ~~NPC~~ guys in hardhats and toolbelts running the heavy machinery, but an area's been set aside for the graduate workers to sort and stack some of the new loads of brick that have just been delivered. Hats, belts, eyewear and tools are provided as usual, as well as work-gloves in such fashionable color choices as orange, orange, or orange.

Workers and visitors might notice Xander eyeing the pink hardhat that might or might not have Conner's name on it now, but he isn't going to say anything. Considering Xander is now wearing the Galaxy Quest hat, who's he to judge?

Xander clapped both hands over his ears. Well the parts of his ears not already covered by the construction hat. "I CAN'T HEAR YOU EITHER."

"I could just take your phone," Mel said crossing her arms and giving him a look.

"You could not." Yes, she totally could. She's a Slayer; she could take his pants, if she wanted them. Hopefully she didn't.

Mel tried a different ploy and tried leaning up against Xander with her eyes looking big.

"Please?" she said with a mournful look combined with a bit lip and a chin wibble.

Look, it was hand her a twinkie or try to fight off the seizures caused by the uncontrollable eye-twitching, OKAY?

"You do realize they sell these in town, right?"

"It's more fun getting them from you," Mel said. "Plus most of mine were destroyed in a campfire. Accidentally."

"How do you accidentally destroy twinkies in a campfire?" Actually he could think of a million ways, and had probably accomplished at least three of them. He was just curious.

"Gremlins," she lied-lied-lied. "Little buggers stole them and dumped them in the fire to see if the creamy center would make them explode."

She was, of course, speaking to the guy who'd helped perpetuate the idea that twinkie-wrappers kept gremlins away, and also the guy who spent his entire senior year here consuming mostly twinkies while never getting bit by a gremlin.

"Uh-huh."
