Self Confidence the Ares Way, [Thursday, Period 2]

Ares smiled at his class. It wasn't a particularly comforting smile.

"You all acquitted yourselves satisfactorily during last week's class," he said. "Most people would have just gone fleeing to the hills. However, despite your valiant efforts, most, if not all of your fellow villagers have been slaughtered and what few remain have banished you in a fit of blame?"

"What do you do? Do you try and futilely beg forgiveness from your peers? Do you attempt to raise an army to prevent your town from ever coming under attack again? Do you become obsessed with trying to destroy the one who attacked your village in the first place?"

"Break up into groups and discuss what you would do, how you would go about it, and how this would have a positive effect on your self-confidence."

After a great deal of thought, Karal chose this group.

It was the only one that might possibly lead to a solution other than all out war, or something which sounded far too close to assassination for his comfort.

Altra stared at him for a bit before trotting over to sit next to his desk, keeping a wary eye on Ares. :Interesting choice.:

Karal just shrugged and fiddled with his pen.

Demyx shrugged. "I guess begging forgiveness could work. Me? I'm all for begging forgiveness, then hiding out somewhere and ignoring the world until people forget it was my fault."

Karal smiled at his big sibling. "Seeking forgiveness might not work, but it seems a better starting point than waging a war or seeking vengeance. If you are part of the village once more, hopefully they will listen," he said. "Is that, I mean, has that actually happened to you? Having to hide in that manner?"

Altra cocked his head, studying Demyx, tail lazily flicking from side to side.

[ooc: about to disappear to a meeting for about an hour]

"I'm not so much for war or vengeance," Demyx admitted. "I'm a musician, not a fighter. Really. Send me to fight, and you've really chosen the wrong guy." With that, he could absolutely speak from experience. "I mostly hid from the rest of the Organization. Well, hid in the manner of speaking that they wouldn't think to look for me in a room with good acoustics."

"Nor am I. Though I think that comes with the job," he said lightly. Altra snorted, but Karal ignored him. "Priests are supposed to be the voice of reason, hence why I chose this group. But I'm not familiar with the Organization. You were a member of it?"

"Ah, well, y'see..." Demyx flailed a little, trying to find the best way to explain it. "Organization XIII was a group I was a part of back in my world before I got killed by the Keyblade master. But I'm not anymore, because...yeah, technically dead. Weird stuff, huh?"

That just made Karal stare, trying not to gape. "You were...dead?" he asked, more than a little shocked.

Altra was pretending to be uninterested, but Karal could tell he was paying close attention.
