Ninja-ing - Wednesday Period 1 - Week 3

There was a note in their normal meeting place that they were all to meet in the park.

Once everyone gathered around, Yondaime walked down from one of the trees, yes walked down the side of it, and out onto the middle of the pond. No folks, he couldn’t turn water into wine.

With a quick flurry of his hands there was suddenly five of him, all standing on the water. “These are some of the basic ninja techniques where I come from. Some of which might help you retrieve the scrolls from my home, which I have to say there are still quite a few of,” he smirked and walked towards the shore of the pond.

“With enough practice, concentration and control, I think each of you could be able to do these things.” He said confidently and passed out several flyers describing how to control their chakra and energies to be able to perform the said skills.

“I want you all to work together in teams or pairs on how to do this. Try to work on making copies of yourself fist, and then move on to walking up the trees and on the water. Kabuto has a lot of practice with these, so if you have problems ask him, or I, and we’ll be glad to help.”

Dib was amazed at Yondaime's jutsu. He watched the demonstration, staring. Once he got the handouts, he read through them with excitement, eager to try chakra conversion for himself.

Setsuna was paying attention mostly to just the information on the multiplication. She, of course, knew people who could do it. Kotaro-kun, Kaede-san, but never bothered learning because...well, it wasn't her place. Her place was with the sword. And she could already do the other things, although the water walking not so much because she preferred to just fly over things like that. Ninja fly, not wings fly. Totally different.

Billy looked somewhat despairingly at the flyers. He was pretty sure it didn't work like that on his world which probably meant that he wasn't biologically capable of magic. Death like stasis yes. Messianic powers, no.

That... Wasn't possible, was it? Well, for other people, obviously, but it must not work for people from Sokka's world, because nobody ever had done things like that... had they?

Of course, Katara could probably walk on water...

He raised his hand. "Are you sure we'll be able to do this?"

Technically, if they were figuring out how to do this right, couldn't they make their own partner? Grinning slightly to herself over that thought, Setsuna waited to catch the eye of someone to work with.

It took a few tries, but Savannah finally was able to clone herself. This made her very happy and she continued to practice this.

It could be that she would also practice this outside of class.

Concentrate -- check. Handwaving -- check. Sokka studied the handouts carefully until he had this down.

Which is why, when he was concentrating as hard as he could, he managed to create a ghostly image of his scrunched-up nose floating in the air in front of him.

Kabuto didn't really need to practice, but walking on water was one of those easy things that he still enjoyed doing. It was like practicing scales on a musical instrument.

Teddy, unlike a certain evil ninja show off, was currently treading water instead of walking on it.

Savannah was listening closely to what he was saying and she looked down at her feet.

Okay, she would do this his way and use Chakra instead of her power. She stepped out into the shallows. She would start small and move up from there.

Sokka stood on the shoreline with his eyes closed, focusing all his energy into his feet, and very, very carefully stepped forward into -- or onto? -- the shallow water. Was he doing it?

He opened one eye to look down at his feet and dropped the half-inch to the bottom with a tiny splash.

A lot like walking on water. "I suggest you get a running start when first starting this one. You want the engery in your feet to make you stick to the tree."

And this is Setsuna. Walking up a tree, doing a few circles around the tree, flipping of the tree and playing in the branches a little. Totally not showing off, shut up.

A thought struck Setsuna as she considered the lesson for today; she didn't feel right just going out and doing it and trying to make a slight out of it, in case she was caught, so she decided to engage the teacher about it instead. "Yondaime-sensei," she bowed her head a little as she approached. "I know that it isn't exactly specific to the goals of the class, but if you already have a different way of creating multiples of yourself...I will try your method, of course, but, at the same time, I have cohorts who are masters of the and I would not use this skill as it steps on their toes and I have my other methods. And I feel it is important to practise what you will use."
