Arts & Crafts 3, Tuesday Afternoon, Main Campfire

This afternoon Steve was standing over a table of useless junk. At each of the tables for workshoppers were glue, glitter, paint, and pipe cleaners.

"Today we're going to work on improvisational art," Steve said. "I've...handwavily appropriated some items from a store in town." He'd tried to pay, but there didn't seem to be anyone to pay. "You are to incorporate at least one of them into your project. Make whatever you want. Go wild. Have fun."

After a moment of silence, he added as a sort of footnote, "The theme of your project should be, 'Why the Superhuman Registration Act is a bad idea and will never work.'"

For some reason this girl--yes, Steve still thought Haku was a girl--really reminded Steve of Bucky right now. He wasn't sure if he would call that lucky, though. What about somebody who wanted you for just being yourself. "I see," he said, careful to keep his emotions out of his voice. "And that's...better?"

"Yes, I was living on the streets and Zabuza gave me a reason to live again." It was all very simple for Haku and it was easy to tell how devoted Haku was to his partner.

"He taught me everything I know and I care a lot for him."

This was sounding like a deeply unhealthy relationship to Steve, but he said, "Er, good for him."

Haku played with his project and glanced up at Steve, watching and studying him for a moment and blushing.

"That probably sounded strange... didn't it?"

Steve winced internally. "Maybe a little?"

Haku blushed. "Ahh... sorry, when you're with someone everyday and night for over seven years, it has an effect on you."

Probably another reason Zabuza sent him to school.

"Sixteen," Haku replied, not sure why that mattered.

"Just curious," Steve said, making a mental note to keep an eye on this student in particular.

The list of students to keep an eye on seemed to keep getting longer.
