Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

Around dinner time on Friday, the main campfire was transformed. Leis and grass skirts were available to all. A pig was roasting kabobs. There was Hawaiian music playing from somewhere. There was also a limbo stick of doom. If you lost, you died.

Okay, that was just Drax's hope. He couldn't make it happen in reality. Woe.

[OOC: FRIDAY SPECIAL EVENTS BEGIN ANEW! Students, instructors, and townies are all welcome.

Also, I turned off notifications, zomg.]

"Think so?" By this time, Gavin was wondering if they were still talking about flying but couldn't seem to stop the posturing.

Johnny wasn't too sure himself, and he wasn't about to be the one to cave. "What do you think, Gavin?"

"I think you're bluffing." It sounded good in his head.

"Is that right?" How long could this little game last?

"Bluffing or overestimating your abilities."

"You'll learn, Gavin, as you get to know me, that I never bluff. As far as my abilities go?" He shrugged. "You'll soon learn firsthand."

Gavin quirked an eyebrow up. "Then I look forward to that day."

Johnny nodded, his eyes intense, locking with Gavin's.

Gavin stared back because he couldn't think of anything else to say. And staring was...kinda nice. Don't tell anyone.

Johnny couldn't think of anything else to say either, and it was weird, the staring. He noticed things...when he stared. It was...odd. He might look slightly uncomfortable, a little self-conscious.

Gavin blinked first, shaking his head. "I forgot what we were talking about."

"No clue," he looked over at the fire, up at the night sky, and scratched his head.

"Maybe it wasn't that important." Had it been about workshops? He really couldn't remember.

"Pie." He tried not to look back at Gavin. He got distracted.

[identity profile] sixstandingby.livejournal.com 2007-05-19 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Pie," he repeated. "I like pie."

"Banana. Or cherry. Maybe chocolate cream." They were at a Hawaiian luau and Johnny was pie talking.

Course pie was fun, wasn't it?

"I actually haven't had any of this planet's pie," Gavin admitted sheepishly. "But they sound good!"

"Teddy told me about this place in town, Job, God of Biscuits, serves the best pie. We'll have to go and check it out and what kind of pie do you eat at home?"

[identity profile] sixstandingby.livejournal.com 2007-05-19 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
"That doesn't sound bad," he said, answering the first part. "And, lately, it's been rations for me. No time to eat."

"You that busy with workshops?" No time to eat? Johnny had to eat or he was grumpy as all hell.

[identity profile] sixstandingby.livejournal.com 2007-05-19 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
"I meant before coming here," Gavin corrected. "Since coming here, I've eaten what I've seen. Not at the same time."
