Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

Around dinner time on Friday, the main campfire was transformed. Leis and grass skirts were available to all. A pig was roasting kabobs. There was Hawaiian music playing from somewhere. There was also a limbo stick of doom. If you lost, you died.

Okay, that was just Drax's hope. He couldn't make it happen in reality. Woe.

"I thought they hated each other," Molly said, watching Katara flail with interest.

"They do!" Katara replied. "They were yelling at each other!"

"Huh." Molly looked carefully at Katara and then to where Zuko and Mel had been. "I guess they don't completely hate each other after all."

Katara frowned. "I guess not." She threw a rock into the fire. "I don't know how they could! Seriously! They try to kill each other all the time!"

Molly smirked a little. "Are you, maybe, a little jealous that he didn't kiss you after one of your fights?"

"...NO!" Katara flailed waaaay more.

Molly pressed her lips together to keep from giggling at the flailing. "Suuuuure. You're just worried about Mel, right?"

"Exactly," she nodded. "Mel's a good friend and I don't want that stupid Fire Nation pigchicken to hurt her."

Molly snorted, but kept herself from laughing out loud. "You're such a good friend to worry about Mel."

Katara eyed her. "What?"

Molly looked around then leaned forward to speak quietly, "I've seen the way you look at him sometimes since he got back. I think maybe you don't hate him anywhere near as much as you used to."

Open-mouthed, she stared at Molly.

"No! I don't think so. I mean, that's doesn't mean anything!"

The flailing was back.

Molly might have believed her if it wasn't for the flailing.

"Yeah, Katara. Sure."

Katara stuck her tongue out. "It's the truth!" She flopped over on her stomach and stole a marshmallow.

Molly stuck out her tongue in return and threw another marshmallow at Katara. "I'll stop teasing now. I promise," she said. "Oh! I keep forgetting to mention shopping!"

"Shopping?" she asked, grasping the subject that WASN'T Zuko and Mel kissing.

"Buffy wants to go clothes shopping in DC and I asked her if I could ask you to come with us," Molly told her. "Annette and Dawn are coming too."

"Ooooh, fun!" Katara replied immediately. "When?"

"We have cheerleading tryout this weekend so it'll be next Saturday."

"Okay!" Katara said. "That'll be fun." She grinned. "Can I come watch the cheerleading tryouts? WIll they be funny?"

Molly chuckled. "They could be. You should totally come to watch tryouts." She raised an eyebrow inquisitively. "You wouldn't be interested in trying out at all, would you?"

Katara's eyes widened. "...do you need a waterbender?"

Molly chucked more. "We need more cheerleaders," she said. "If you could figure out how to add waterbending, we'd win every competition ever."

Katara grinned. "That'd be cool. I don't know. Maybe? We'll see tomorrow. I can't flip around or anything."

Molly shrugged. "You could watch first and see if you'd like to try," she said. "I'm not as big on recruiting as Buffy is. I won't force you to try out."
