Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

Around dinner time on Friday, the main campfire was transformed. Leis and grass skirts were available to all. A pig was roasting kabobs. There was Hawaiian music playing from somewhere. There was also a limbo stick of doom. If you lost, you died.

Okay, that was just Drax's hope. He couldn't make it happen in reality. Woe.

Fraser's there and miraculously out of uniform. Jeans, a sweater and hat still aren't ideal for a luau but he's working on it.

Emma was actually IN uniform, but to be fair most people couldn't tell the difference. She gave Fraser a smile when she spotted him. "Good evening, Constable."

"Professor," he said, smiling warmly and almost lost his words when he caught sight of his outfit. "You look very nice."

Well, he hadn't lost his words but the words he'd found were so LAME.

"Thank you," she smiled. She looked him up and down. "Why, Constable. You're out of uniform. ...I think I like it."

"Thank you," he said, looking down at himself. "I couldn't really see attending a luau in a uniform. I would've seemed out of place."

He was surprised but didn't startle and managed to hug her back. "Leaving already?"

"Sunday." She smiled up at him, happy to be hugging an un-uniformed Mountie, especially this one. "I may not get to see you again before then. And it's a party. A good time to hug someone."

"Just about." Nope, she hasn't let go of him yet. Why would she? "Everything in my suite is gone, most of my wardrobe, all the books... I just have the clothes I was wearing this week, my rabbit and one car left." She looked mournful. "I'm going to miss this place."

Hey, he was an adult, and presumably not a student. She could wink if she wanted.

"I am. I'm teaching Treasure Hunting to students who could use this valuable information later in their lives," Vala said proudly, "and may I say that that's a lovely hat you're wearing?"
