Library, Wednesday [05/16]

With the area properly cleared and safe for people to walk through, Thursday opened the library. She pushed the door open and looked inside. The grimace on her face said it all.

While the structure was intact and (after a cursory look inside) Special Collections was seemingly undisturbed, the main library itself was in shambles. Every single book was off the shelves. Some of the shelves were flat on the ground. Chairs were on their sides or up-ended. The computers looked worse for wear.

They had some work ahead of them, that was for sure. It didn't help that the power was seemingly out.

"Best get to it then," she said to herself and moved to pick up a chair.

[OOC: While we're not looking for any new library aides until Fall, feel free to come by the library when it's opened by one of the current aides and help clean and reshelve. Please follow the instructions given by the librarian and the aides.]

It was Wednesday, and even though she hadn't been there for the last few weeks, habit finally kicked in and sent Isabel over to the library.

"Oh this isn't good."

"Not particularly," Thursday admitted. "But it could be worse. The library could be The Pile of Ashes Formerly Known as the Library."

"You're right," she nodded, automatically picking up some books off the floor. "And at least the books are back to just being books again. I don't think I could have taken much more of the clucking."

"Their eggs tasted fine. A little inky, but fine."

"Oh." So much for the mini novella idea then. She'd have to let Dawn know.

"So you'll be taking over now?"

"I don't know about taking over, but the school has hired me as the librarian, yes. With Rory and Angela graduating, it's you, Sam Winchester and Bridge Carson as the aides, is that right?"

"That's it," Isabel nodded. "I'm around for most of the summer at least. The Fall is questionable at the moment, it depends on how some personal stuff works out."

"We'll take it a semester at a time. I suspect if we do otherwise, Fandom will decide to throw more events like this at us to keep us on our toes."

"At least it's never boring?" Yes that was desperate grab for the bright side.

"We certainly wouldn't want that. Could you imagine what some people would get up to if they were allowed to be bored?"

Isabel thought about some of the people she knew. "That is a very scary thought. Thank god workshops started."

"That should keep them busy for some of the day, at least."
