Detention, April 28th, The Danger Shop

The Tick opened up the Danger Shop - which looked like a city rooftop - bright and early and put up a signup sheet.

"Huh," The Tick said as students started to filter in. "Well, a rooftop is no place for children. Let's see..." The Tick started to poke at buttons until he recalled the same playground setting that was used just about this time last year. "That's better! Let's have a good, fun detention! SPOOON!"

[OOC: Detention will only take place through lunchtime because Tick won't punish a bunch of little kids unless they send a crazed cyborg dog on him. There will be an afternoon Danger Playground in Dorms later on.

And don't worry about the standard thing about playing elsewhere. Just make sure it's not set for morning. IT'S WEETINY, DAMMIT!]

Summer waited for others to form a group with. Quietly.

Layla went over to Summer and tugged on her sleeve. "Are you good at bein' quiet?"

Summer nodded at Layla. "Yeah, I can be quiet. Can you?"

Layla nodded emphatically. "Yeah! I can be really really really quiet. Really."

Not right away seeing anyone who was still normal, Cameron did some facepalming and decided to best get this over with. In the end, hitting Dick was still worth it.

"Hey, kids. Mind if I join you?"

"Only if you can be quiet," Summer said.

Cameron grinned. "I'm a pro," he assured her. "I'm Cam. What's your name?" As long as neither of them had Mitchell as last name, he was going to be fine. Hopefully.

"Summer," she replied, sighing. "I go to school here like you do."

And this would be the moment where Cameron was really grateful that he wasn't a kid either. "Okay, nice to meet you Summer," he said with a smile and looked over at Layla. "And what's yours?"

"I'm Layla!" she said brightly, bouncing a little where she was standing. "Did you do something bad to be here?"

Cameron remembered Layla from one of his classes and he shrugged. "Kind of, but it was deserved," he said vaguely.

Summer peered up at Cameron curiously. "So what did you do?"

He mumbled something along the lines of beating someone up.

Layla gasped. "That's mean! Unless they were badder than you."

"They were," Cameron confirmed.

Annette ran over quickly from her group at seeing Cam and planted her hands on her hips. "You beat up Dick."

Cameron raised an eyebrow and nodded. "Yeah, I did." He'd do it again too.

Annette raised her leg to kick him in the shin.

"Ow! Hey!" Cameron scowled at her and stepped back. "That's not nice."

She pointed her finger at him, "Youuu don't beat up Dick no more!"

"If he behaves I won't," he replied. Well, he wasn't going to right now as he was all wee and maybe someone could reform him to grow up not to be scum or something. "And I think if you can kick me, you can also tell me your name."

Annette pursed her lips and folded her arms across her chest. But okay, she could do that.

"Annette."

Cameron was trying hard not to laugh at the determination, really.

"Okay, Annette. Maybe I shouldn't have beaten up Dick, but I did what you just did. You got angry because someone hurt him, well I got angry at him because he hurt someone I love," he explained. "I won't do it again."

"Dick hurt someone? Ooooh that's so bad. I will kick Dick too." Hurting people was not nice.

"I'sorry, Cam."

"It's okay," Cameron assured her, amused. "I'll live."
