Detention, April 28th, The Danger Shop

The Tick opened up the Danger Shop - which looked like a city rooftop - bright and early and put up a signup sheet.

"Huh," The Tick said as students started to filter in. "Well, a rooftop is no place for children. Let's see..." The Tick started to poke at buttons until he recalled the same playground setting that was used just about this time last year. "That's better! Let's have a good, fun detention! SPOOON!"

[OOC: Detention will only take place through lunchtime because Tick won't punish a bunch of little kids unless they send a crazed cyborg dog on him. There will be an afternoon Danger Playground in Dorms later on.

And don't worry about the standard thing about playing elsewhere. Just make sure it's not set for morning. IT'S WEETINY, DAMMIT!]

"Dick hurt someone? Ooooh that's so bad. I will kick Dick too." Hurting people was not nice.

"I'sorry, Cam."

"It's okay," Cameron assured her, amused. "I'll live."

"You got candy, Cam?" Cause that was very important right now.

If he's known detention was going to be full of kids, he probably would have brought something. As it was, Cameron searched his pockets. "Is gum okay?"

"If it's the bubble kind." She nodded firmly.

Cameron grinned. "I'm pretty sure it is," he said as he offered her a piece. "Here you go."

"Thank you!" Annette took it, unwrapped it, and shoved it in her mouth. Usually she only had half at a time.

"Who you love?" She said around the chewing as she tried to keep the gum all in her mouth by using three fingers.

It took a moment for Cameron to realise exactly what Annette had asked. "I don't think you'd know her," he said. "She graduated a year ago."

Annette giggled. "She's a big girl then. Does she have a purty name, Cam?"

"Her name's Veronica, that's almost as nice as Annette," he told her, smiling.

Annette's jaw fell open as she gasped really really loudly, and her bubblegum came rolling out to fall on the ground. She didn't seem to notice it yet though.

Cameron raised an eyebrow. "Everything okay?" he asked, not sure what to make of that particular reaction.

"Veroooonica is meannnnnnnn." She whispered to Cam, her eyes big.

"No," he shook his head. "She really isn't. I wouldn't like her if she was, would I?"

Her little brows knitted together in concentration. "No, I s'pose you wouldn't. But Dick said she was awful to him and he was calling her last night." Annette nodded emphatically and took a step forward, smashing her gum to her sneaker.

"He called her?" Cameron frowned and was really wishing Dick wasn't wee right now. "Well maybe they were mean to each other," he suggested.

She nodded, "That why he shuv'd her phone in his pocket." Annette said frowning. "He not s'pose to call her, Cam. Drunk too. I's not nice."

"No, it's not," Cameron agreed, making a note to call Veronica to make sure she was alright. "You'll just have to kick his shins if he does it again."

He really hoped no one heard that.

"Maybe I should kick him to remind him not to do it." She nodded and shifted and felt the toe of her sneaker sticking to the floor.

"My guuuuuuum," Annette looked up at Cameron and started crying. "I stuuuckk right here!"

Cameron wrinkled his nose, but crying girls was worse than gum. "No you're not," he said and leaned down. He pulled a tissue from his pocket to clean it up.

Annette tried to hold her foot up but was quickly losing her balance, "Uhhh-ohhhh."

Good thing Cameron had good reflexes as he quickly reached up to keep Annette from toppling over. "No falling," he told her.

"K. I'm a good balancer. I'm a cheerleader too." She tilted her head. "You're nice Cam. I'm going to tell Dick. Do you like glitter?"

Cameron wasn't all too fond as it usually meant people expected boykissy, but he didn't want to explain that. "I think you can't go to school here if you don't like glitter," he said instead. "And thank you, you're nice too and I'm sure you're a really good cheerleader."

"I know it!" She hopped up and down and clasped her hands together. "Dick was shiny this morning! It got in his mouth, eww."

Annette giggled. "Thank you. Bye Cam!" She gave him a little finger wave and turned to skip back to her own group.
