Ares looked disturbingly happy as he addressed the class.

"Our final today is " He clicked his fingers and a portal appeared. "If you'd all follow me through the portal?"

As the class entered the portal, they may have felt an odd tingling.

Gabrielle's voice dropped into a deeper tone. "'Gabrielle, we need someone on the inside to see what's going on, just go to the meeting don't worry, I'll be watching'. No mention of what to do when the meeting turns out to be a human sacrifice and we're the main attractions."

Her jaw dropped, "No freaking kidding? Human sacrifices?" Annette folded her arms across her chest and looked around before she returned her eyes upon Gabrielle. "Where the hell are we? And where is the leader?"

"Do I look like I'm kidding?" Gabrielle said. "Far as I can tell, some kind of temple."

"Figure of speech, Gabrielle, chill." Annette gave her a look. "Some kind of temple. Damn. That doesn't tell me very much. These people that captured us, who are they, do you know?"

"Some kind of cult," Gabrielle replied. "We were trying to find out more when Xena had her brilliant brain wave."

She cocked her head, "Cult. That doesn't sound good. This brilliant brain wave include you getting captured? Okay then. I just need to get the hell out of here and make my way back to that portal."

"No, it was not supposed to include me getting captures, which believe me, I'm going to be taking up with somebody the first chance I get." Gabrielle cocked her head to the side. "Portal?"

"Where we came from. Us. The other people who look like me. The uh, non-hut dwellers." That might not sound too good but damn she was lacking for subtlety here.

"Gabrielle, do you think you can help me?"

"We need to organise people," Gabrielle said. "And find some sort of weapons."

"Right. Organize the sacrificial lambs. And weapons. Um, spears? Rocks? Poisonous arrow heads. Wait. We're not in the land of the Indians are we? Okay then. See, weapons are not exactly my speciality. Oh! But I can talk really good and fast and maybe I should talk to one of the evil doer's?"

"Round up the villagers and the non-hut dwellers," Gabrielle said. "I'll take care of the weapons."
