Spy Tech, Final Class (04/25)

Wednesday, April 25, First Period

Students entering the Danger Shop will first encounter a long table covered with heavy white envelopes. Each envelope is stamped TOP SECRET and labeled with a student's name. Technicians begin immediately handing out equipment to the class. M is standing to one side.

"Welcome to your final exam. These envelopes contain your mission briefings. You have each been assigned two targets and two mission objectives. First, eliminate your primary target. Then, isolate your secondary target and retrieve the specified item. Full marks will be given to any student who completes one of the missions, extra credit will be given for completing both.

"My techicians are outfitting you with three items. The first is a gun which fires a non-lethal laser. The second is a lightweight blunt sword. And the third is a vest equipped with special sensors, linked to both a wrist monitor and my own monitors here. These sensors will detect a shot from the laser gun or a hit from the sword. You will not be able to use either weapon to actually injure your classmates, but the wrist monitor will alert you to the sort of damage you could expect to have sustained from any shot or blow. Additionally, I will be watching your progress from the control station.

"Along with the required items you have just been given, you have access to a number of moddable other pieces of espionage equipment. You may outfit yourself with three additional useful tools to take along on your mission, with the exception of additional weapons or any sort of vehicle.

"There are three regions laid out here in the Danger Shop. You may move from region to region, and in fact will most likely have to do so in order to track your targets. The Danger Shop safety protocols will not allow you to become physically injured, but you will be able to interact fully with your surroundings. This means that you may improvise additional weapons or other useful tools, and the vests and monitors will adjust accordingly. Once you have completed the scenario, return the equipment and you may go on your way."

M took a moment to look at each student individually, and then nodded to the assembled group. "It's been an unexpected pleasure to teach this class. An experience I had not thought to enjoy. I wish you all luck in your future pursuits...and hope to God I never see a file on any of you cross my desk."

[OOC: Those of you who signed up to participate should have received an email containing information on your assignments. If you didn't, please tag me in the OOC thread and I'll make sure you get the information. This scenario is entirely dependent on the students playing it out with each other, there are no NPCs. Please keep in mind that you can't mod each other's actions or "injuries", but please also play along -- if another character aims a shot or a blow, play it out as your character would. If M catches anyone not abiding by the rules or the spirit of the game, she'll pull that character aside to have a word with them.

You'll find three OCD threads below, for the three "regions" laid out for use. You are welcome to interact with people other than your assigned targets, but you won't be able to actually "kill" non-target characters. The environment is completely moddable -- I've outlined a basic description below, but feel free to mod appropriate scenery, objects, etc. The only thing that the Danger Shop won't provide for you is additional people. Also, you may choose any three pieces of appropriate equipment to take along for the scenario -- cutting tools, explosives, communication devices, grappling guns, etc. The Danger Shop will provide whatever your character would deem appropriate, just please use common sense.

Please also feel free to email me with any questions at angel.phale @ gmail.com. The post is open for slowplay for as long as you'd like to use it.

This class has been a blast to teach, and hope you've enjoyed it as much as M and I have! Please wait for the OCD is up, have at it! :) ]

Once "Nadia" had been outfitted for the class (who knew they made degu sized laser tag equipment? . . . is that an iPod strapped to the degu's back?!), she ditched the gun and headed into the forest to gnaw on some sticks.

Marty stared at... the fuzzy thing.

With an iPod.

Luckily he had outfitted himself with a giant fishnet, which he then attempted to drop over "Nadia".

The degu tried to run from the thing coming at it from above. It just barely made it away in time, though. That iPod weighed a lot, for a degu.

Mac hadn't actually noticed "Nadia", as she was really only looking out for human targets. Even a degu in laser tag equipment hasn't caught her attention. Weird.

She just happens to be fiddling with her laser gun from behind a tree stump nearby.

Degus are, actually, very social creatures. And Mac didn't seem to be posing any danger. So the degu scurried over to say hi, in its degu-y way.

Which may have involved trying to mark its territory on Mac's shoe.

Anders, gun in hand and sword strapped to his back, headed into the forest -- he'd been doing stints of high-altitude training since he was twelve, and the forest reminded him a bit of Stanley Park Caprica's forests, so he pretty much felt at home as he went looking for his target.

. . . and wouldn't this be interesting.

He'd still much rather be back in the dorms keeping an eye on Phoebe, but after missing so much of class she'd have kicked his ass if he tried to ditch the final, so here he was.

Maybe he could get some of his frustration out this way, at least.

Hopefully not on the poor panicked degu, which was running back and forth and attempting to dislodge the laser tag equipment and the iPod from its back.

. . . well, he had to ask.

"Biers? That's not you, is it?"

Dick was just planning to find a nice spot of fall asleep but when he actually found his target he couldn't very well not try to "kill" him.

He started to trail Anders. He wasn't too good at it since it still hurt to open the eye Cameron punched all the way so he was sort of having trouble gauging distance. But he was following him nonetheless.

Anders still wasn't really good at this whole marine-type thing, and he was preoccupied worrying about Phoebe, so . . . well, he didn't notice Dick just yet.

Parker spotted Anders, and grinned to herself. Hmm. Have to get him alone first. Without spooking him.

Keeping her eyes open for her primary target too, Parker sloooowly crept up on Anders.

A little more on edge now thanks to the torso shot he'd taken earlier, Anders thought he heard movement from somewhere behind him and just as sloooooooooowly turned his head suspiciously.

Mac, not really one to immediately go on the offensive, crouched down behind a fallen tree bringing her laser gun up to rest on it so she could shoot if necessary, and kept her eyes peeled for anyone who might be after her.

As D started on her second region, she spied Mac and waved. The said quietly so no one else could hear her, "a little different from clue searching, huh?"

Mac, scuttled around the other side of her fallen tree to stay out of the other girl's line of fire, because you really couldn't tell, and looked over the top at D. "Little bit, yeah," she replied.

Broots wasn't so much sneaking as hiding behind a tree.

Dick tried to look as friendly as possible when he walked up to Broots. Now how to handle this? Maybe the dude would just give him what he needed...

Jake was looking for his target. Sneakily. Yes. It was possible that he wasn't very good at it.

Parker had taken small explosives-- the ones M had loaned her two months ago-- a GPS hand-held unit, and a grappling gun. Keeping to the underbrush, she started to track her two targets, on the lookout for anyone tracking *her*.

Forest was, pretty much, a natural habitat for most ninja. Except maybe Sand ninja and Mist ninja. But Kabuto was neither of those. He jumped from tree to tree to tree, keeping a lookout for his targets.

[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com 2007-04-26 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
After their previous arrangements, Setsuna went with Kabuto to stake out the forest, her wings now tucked in so that she, too, could easily make her way through the trees, constantly keeping an eye out.
