DAMM - Period 1 Monday - The Final Countdown

Byron appeared before the class in the usual way and bowed to them.

"Greetings students! Today is the day of your Final exam! Follow me! To the DANGER SHOP!"

As the class moved to the danger shop, Byron explained the they would be presented with a situation that they will have to resolve. Each student had to pick at least one door, but could do as many as they like after that. Arcane, alchemical, and mundane items would be available for them to assemble whatever sort of solution might come into their heads.

"Oh I'm afraid that story has been lost over the years young lady." the woman said. "But there's talk of an angry ghostly hound and a screaming woman."

"Well, if they're ghosts, they don't sound as if they can do you much harm," Door reasons. "But I'd be happy to walk along with you just in case. "

Door hesitates to point out that she could probably also open a door directly to wherever her granddaughter lives, because she's not quite sure how that would work in the Danger Shop.

She doesn't hesitate to shoot sidelong glances at the old lady to try to determine if she's actually something Door ought to be worried about, trying to look helpless as a trap.

"Which direction does your granddaughter live?"

"Is there any way to go around the woods to avoid the haunted bits?" Will asked. "And have you called your sick granddaughter to make sure that she's home? You wouldn't want to get all the way through and then have nobody there."

She peered down the path into the woods. Sure was spooky and ominous down there.

"Great," said Will with a smile. She threw on the quickie talisman from Dr Orpheus' supply table and offered a second one to the old lady. Things didn't look bad enough yet to justify summoning the Heart.

"Shall we be off?" she asked.
