DAMM - Period 1 Monday - The Final Countdown

Byron appeared before the class in the usual way and bowed to them.

"Greetings students! Today is the day of your Final exam! Follow me! To the DANGER SHOP!"

As the class moved to the danger shop, Byron explained the they would be presented with a situation that they will have to resolve. Each student had to pick at least one door, but could do as many as they like after that. Arcane, alchemical, and mundane items would be available for them to assemble whatever sort of solution might come into their heads.

"Oh, good. I always make sure to check in advance about people actually being where you want to meet them," Will said.

She peered down the path into the woods. Sure was spooky and ominous down there.

"Great," said Will with a smile. She threw on the quickie talisman from Dr Orpheus' supply table and offered a second one to the old lady. Things didn't look bad enough yet to justify summoning the Heart.

"Shall we be off?" she asked.

"Oh, how pretty." The old lady said putting the talisman on. "Thank you very much."

"So where does your granddaughter live, anyway?" Will asked. "Just down this path?"

"Oh yes, it will be a very quick trip if we stick to the path." She said. "Tell me my dear, what's your name?"

The path seemed simple enough, even if it was very spooky. Will just hoped that it would be as quick as the old lady promised.

"Oh, duh, I should have introduced myself right away." She grinned. "My name's Will." Which was technically just a nickname not her real name, but still the one she insisted that everyone call her.

Will looked away, and started blushing a bit. "Uh, no, I don't. The closest I have is a crazy director guy friend who keeps demanding that I write movie scripts for him, but I think he has a boyfriend."

"Oh that's too bad for you but... Um... Too..."

The amulet Will gave the old lady glows briefly and fades.

"... We should hurry along dearie, it's getting late."

The amulet Will gave the old woman protected her from the curse of the forest! Well done!

Will noticed the amulet glowing a bit and smiles.

"Definitely. You probably want to see your granddaughter before it gets too late."
