Ethics [Monday, April 23, 5th period]

Anakin, for once, looked well-rested and relaxed as the class came into the room. "For your final project," he began, "you'll contrast what you learned taking care of eggs versus actual, live younglings." He smiled. "Absolutely no points will be given if all you can come up with is that one doesn't run around or the other one doesn't fit into the refrigerator. What would you have done if the younglings that appeared last week had been here to stay permanently? How would that have affected your summer plans? Or life post-graduation?"

He pointed to a student at random. "Your final discussion begins now."

Jake frowned at him. "Dirty?" It sounded dirty, definitely. "I think women selling, ah, wares down by a spacedock usually take care not to have children. I could be wrong."

He brightened a little. "I like the idea of mail oder! I mean, the coffee thing doesn't have to be genetic."

"Good point," Anakin said, nodding. "Um, not that I have spent much time with women near spacedocks."

He grinned. "I'm sure there are some ethical issues involved with mail order children, but we're all out of classes to discuss them."

Jake eyed him. "I'll just bet you haven't." He waved his hand. "Mail order is much to be preferred to the alternative I can think of. I'm so not ready to be a mom." He paused. "Even if that's what happened with the X-Man but that's kinda less real, you know? I don't know any superhero types."

"Half of this school is ready to run around in red pajamas and you don't think you know superhero types?" Anakin asked with a smile.

Pause. Blink. Blink blink blink. "I knew about the girl thing...I never really followed through on the thought." He snickered. "You could be a mother. I thought Luke had issues."

Jake grinned. "Well, they're not really superheroes. I mean, I don't see their fights with supervillain of the week televised or anything." He grimaced at Anakin. "Please let's not talk too much about that. It's giving me a headache, I swear. Though that's better than being male and pregnant, I suppose."

"...I think I just broke my own brain," Jake said slowly, an expression of horror on his face. "Let's go back to talking about Parker and her wares."

"Because that's less disturbing?" Anakin made a face. "Let's just call this a day." He scribbled some notes down on his paper and grinned. "What are your plans after school's out?"

Jake brightened instantly. "Krycek and I are joining dad's company. Although I'm hoping for a vacation first."

"I was thinking Venice. Unless the Perk is really being taking over by bottled water or something."
