Ethics [Monday, April 23, 5th period]

Anakin, for once, looked well-rested and relaxed as the class came into the room. "For your final project," he began, "you'll contrast what you learned taking care of eggs versus actual, live younglings." He smiled. "Absolutely no points will be given if all you can come up with is that one doesn't run around or the other one doesn't fit into the refrigerator. What would you have done if the younglings that appeared last week had been here to stay permanently? How would that have affected your summer plans? Or life post-graduation?"

He pointed to a student at random. "Your final discussion begins now."

"I'm fine," he said, and then, remembering that he wasn't talking to Dean, added, "Sorry, sir. There was a bit of...something going on last night, and I hit my head. But I'm okay. I didn't want to miss class."

"My housemate got caught up in that, too," Anakin said. "I had to pop her shoulder back into place."

He looked far from happy. "Did Bridge hit you as well?"

"No, I got hit by a wall. Or, more precisely, I hit it," Sam replied. "I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time. Is your housemate okay?"

"Don't do that again," Anakin told him helpfully. "Thursday's going to be fine. She was more upset about losing her jacket, really."

He finished writing notes on his paper. "We're done here," he said quietly. "Go back to the dorm and catch a nap before your next class."

"Are you sure?" Sam asked. "I can go into more explanation if you need me to, really. It's okay."

Anakin looked at him firmly. "We're fine. Your grade's fine. Your head...is not fine. Go take a nap."

Sam looked a little relieved at the assurance about his grade. "Okay. Thank you."

Anakin glanced up from his notes. "You've been cleared by the clinic to be here, right?" he checked. "Because if you go home, take a nap and don't wake up, your father's going to come after me."

"Yeah, I didn't sneak out of the clinic or anything, as tempting as that was," Sam said. "And Dawn is probably waiting for me back at our room, so if nothing else, I'll be sure she tells my dad that it's not your fault if something happens."

"Good," Anakin said, looking a little relieved. "Off you go, then. Have a good summer."
