Anakin was standing next to his desk watching a little girl in a pink hat coloring a picture.

He looked exhausted.

"Okay," he said when the students arrived. "This week we're scheduled to talk about the ethics of parenting. I didn't make the little ones appear!" he said quickly. "I was going to give you egg babies instead."

He pointed at the crate of eggs on his desk. "So you're still getting paired up because it's your final project for class, but I'm sure many of you have more insights on this area than you would have, oh, say, Saturday." He smiled wryly. "And I'm guessing a life of celibacy is looking fairly appealing."

He pulled out a list of names. "Anyway. Here are your parenting teams. Take an egg, name it, give it a backstory, and bring it back in one piece this time next week. Listen for your name, then pair up and chat.

Anakin smiled. "So...anyone have stories to share?"

Jake was holding on to a thermos mug full of coffee while his head was firmly attached to the desk. "I am never having kids."

"How many did you end up with?" Blair asked with a smirk.

Jake lifted his head slightly to reply. "Four, but I managed to leave one with Parker. That kid was pure evil, I swear. How many did you get?"

"Just two." Blair bounced. "Probably one of yours visited my room last night. Parker showed up with a boatload of kids to dump popcorn over me in my sleep."

"You lucky bastard," Jake said, giving Blair a jealous look. "Mine's named Michael. He seems to delight in breaking people's brains."

"I think all of the kids excel at that." Blair laughed. "Did you ever sleep with their parents? Because I've never slept with either of my kid's moms before so it was kind of weird. Actually, I've never even dated Luna."

"...Two of them, yes. Parker, no." He lifted his head all the way. "Actually, I've never even met the father of the biggest one, and he seems to think I ought to be a girl full time." He absently started gulping down coffee.

"..." Blair blinked and looked down at the egg. "This should be so easy now."

Jake facedesked again. "I refuse to be an egg-baby mother."

"It's the 21st century, man." Blair shrugged. "Our egg can have two daddies."

"...I can live with that," Jake decided. "What do you want to call it? Eggy?"

"Very imaginative." Blair laughed. "Should it be a boy or a girl?"

"A girl?"

"Eggy the girl with two daddies." Blair nodded. "Works for me."

Jake lifted his head long enough to nod back. "So who's going to take care of her when?"

"I'm good to watch her tomorrow, but I've got hunting class on Wednesday." Blair said. "Probably not a good idea to bring her along."

"Probably not," Jake agreed. "Okay, I can take her today and Wednesday and hope none of my kids accidentally smash her or have her for dinner."
