Yes, Sam was in the library on a Saturday. Between his classes and more personal interests, he had more than enough reading to do.

Dawn fluttered her eyelashes at him, then ruined it by snickering. "Maybe being Buffy's genetic." She took the first Bible and started leafing through it, then looked up at Sam. "Ooh, I forgot, any mythologies that aren't being researched? Water's big in a bunch of them. Although maybe I should look here first."

"I think we've got most of the major mythologies covered," Sam replied. "And I'd certainly hope that being Buffy is genetic. I mean, since you do share blood and all."

"Cool," Dawn hugged the books to her chest, "and it's possible to be a Summers without being Buffy. Not that I don't love her, but one is enough." And then she remembered the one in Fandom, and the one in Xander's timeline, and the one in Willow's, and the one in Giles's, and the one (presumably) in Angel's. "Or possibly six is enough. But one in any location is plenty."

"I would have to agree. I'm very happy with having one Buffy, and getting one of you too," Sam replied.

Dawn kissed him on the cheek. "It does work out nicely, and you're the only one who can say he dated both of us. You should get combat pay or something."

"Dating Buffy wasn't so bad. And you act like dating you is a challenge or something."

"I've met me, Sam," Dawn grinned at him, "and I'm definitely a challenge."

"Dating anyone is a challenge. You're not harder than the rest," Sam assured her.

"Have you dated a lot of people?" Because of course this was the perfect time to ask that question.

Sam laughed a bit self-consciously. "Um. No. You and Buffy are the only people I've ever dated."

"You're really good at it," Dawn decided she really didn't want to consider that some day Sam's list might include people who didn't have the last name Summers.

"That's exactly my point," Sam replied, smiling when she didn't seem to find his lack of experience funny. "Even I, with my very limited experience, manage to be good with you. Clearly, you aren't that much of a challenge."

She grinned. "Maybe you just don't know any better."

"I think I do. But I'll be wary of potential challenges now," Sam teased.

"You'll thank me later," Dawn promised. "So, what do you think is going on outside? With the rain?"

"I don't know, but whatever it is, it's not good," Sam replied. "I haven't had any visions lately though, so I'm hoping that means everyone's going to be safe."

"I hope so too," Dawn chewed on her bottom lip, "and I'm glad you haven't had any visions lately. But you don't know what triggers them?"

"Not yet. People getting hurt, it seems," he said. "So not having them is good for me and everyone else, I think."

"Not having them is definitely good for you," she reached across the desk and hugged him, still worried.
