Gun Club, noon

It wasn't like there was a lot to do outside anyway. So Parker posted the rules, and opened up the range.

SAFETY RULES:

· TREAT ALL GUNS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

Parker had the targets set up at 30'. She was also wondering if actually bringing in pies or baked goods would cause Willow to report them as shooting instead.

Jack was happy to be here, and didn't mess around, just picked an alley and started shooting.

It was soothing, relaxing, and right now he needed that.

(He also wouldn't object if Parker decided to have gun club catered)

River glanced over her shoulder, smiled and waved at Jack, but didn't approach.

Jack smiled back, and lifted one hand in greeting, but stayed where he was. Even though he didn't really want to.

River quietly loaded a gun, humming to herself. Then very suddenly she extented her arm and fired, every shot hitting the target.

Parker blinked. Okaaaaay. "Nice, River." Had she been that good before Miranda? Possibly not.

River looked at Parker and a grin flashed on her face.

Parker grinned back, shaking her head, and went back to checking on people.

Nadia had a new gun and sleeve delivery system to ~~play~~ practice with, so once she got the delivery system set up right and the gun in place, she started practicing launching the gun into her hand and firing.

By the end of an hour she almost had it down smoothly and had not yet managed to blow her own hand off. Score!

Parker oooo'd and made a note to ask Nadia about that at some point.

Nadia grinned and couldn't help showing off a little bit with the tiny gun.

When Nadia took a break, Parker approached her and said, "Okay, I have to ask. Where did you get the shiny tiny sneaky gun?"

"Pip gave it to me last night."

"Ahh. Happy late birthday, by the way. Sorry I didn't even get you a card." Parker smiled at the shiny shiny gun, and said enviously, "I now have an urge to go order one from Tex. Is the aim good?"

Pip spun his new Single Action Army a few times around on his finger before taking aim and firing at the targets.

He tried to avoid quoting Clint Eastwood too much as he fired.

Luke came in, pulled his blaster from the locker and trotted down towards one of the reinforced targets.

Then he looked around for the button to push the targets way, way back.

Parker remembered this from last time. "Hey. Box on your left, Luke, remember? Third button down."

"Thanks," Luke said, giving her a grateful smile and then getting to work shooting bullseyes.

He'd gotten better.

Aeryn's starting to get concerned about the weather (or more likely things like ships that are still out there), but knows going out in it is kind of dumb. So she's just going to fire her pulse pistol a few dozen times instead. For now.

Naomi got out her phaser and began shooting at the targets.

"Hey," Sokka said, walking in sheepishly and heading toward Parker. I, uh, missed the first few meetings, but -- is it too late to start? Because I REALLY want to shoot things."

"No, it's not too late. Sokka, right?" Parker remembered him being pretty damn enthusiastic at sign-ups. "And this is only our second meeting. So no worries. You've never used a gun before, right?"

"Well, not except for the shotgun in Hunting class, no," Sokka answered, looking down at his feet. "But the one-handed ones look more fun."

Parker raised an eyebrow, and said, "It is fun, but it's very dangerous too. So you are going to do exactly as I say, or I'll beat you to death with a pair of ear muffs. Understood?"

"We're surrounded by weapons, and you're threatening me with ear muffs?" Sokka asked. "Yeah, I'm listening, but are you sure you know what you're doing?"
